Where can I learn a new skill that I didn't select during character creation??

Explore every nook and cranny of the first town. Inside some buildings you can easily miss a portrait selector at the top of the screen, where you can talk to different people inside the same 'shop'.

You need no trainer, in Skills section, there's in bottom of book page and checkbox to show all Skills including those you have no skill point in it. This list of skills is dependent of your class. Then at next level up just put one or more point in that skill and you have acquired it.

I think he might mean how to add a completely new skill. For example, I've found two very nice 2-handed swords but none of my characters have the skill to use it (and I don't think there's anyway to add the skill)

Perhaps but he wrote "didn't select at character creation" and it could seem stupid not have seen the checkbox, but stupid thing can happen, to anybody.

Otherwise I think you are right if it's not a skill shown at character creation for a class then it's over.

Actually, you're both right. Main reason was I wanted to add Two Handed to my Dwarf Defender, cause I've seen great 2H axes, but only mediocre 1H axes, Sounds like I'm SOL

Yeah Dwarf warrior has not 2H skills made my Orc Warrior learn Axe just ot use a great 2H Axe, at least temporary.
