Some of the dangerous caves have books (lore) and some have relics. I do not remember what the ogre has but at some point if you want to complete the game (all achievements) you need to clear the dangerous caves.

I went back in at about lvl 17 and beat it easily. If you're talking about the "cyclops" near Sorpigal?

There is also an Ogre in the desolate plains near the Crag

There was a cave with "Tuxo"? in it. I defeated him right after the Cyclops and the Shadow dragon too. The manticore would not die; it regenerated too much.

the manticore is immune to skullcrack, I had to outdps it with my hybrid team. purge works tho if you have access to darkness spells.

If you are talking about the cave in the first Act 1, I also went back at 17. Pretty easy, just keep up burning determination and celestial armor. The other cave with the dragon in Act 1 was even easier, use some arcane and dark magic resist buffs.

Manticore was a total joke with a buffer
