Where is key to open door in Falagar's Mansion on level 1 so you can GET to level 2????

I have thrown the three switches on level one and opened all the doors on level one, but the door to level 2 states I need a key and I cannot find it. Any help or ideas. I have scourered the level and opened all secret areas too.

The switches have 2 positions and you have to do different combinations of the 3 switches to open 3 doors.

As I said I have all the switches configured to open all three doors. BUT there is still the door to the 2nd level that states I do not have the key.

In one of the 3 rooms, you can open with the levers, you will find the golden key to open the door to level 2.

There is 4 closed rooms here, to open 4th you need to pull up all levers, then use south-east, nord-east and nord-west in that order

Search the SW corner for a small, metal coffer resting on the base of and behind a statue of an angel.

It was a bug, I restarted my game and everything is working correctly now...

well i think i have the same problem, i opened all the rooms and chest the first time i came to the mansion from the sewer, but i didnt open the door to go upstairs. I assume i must have found a golden key or silver or whatever. I then went on to do loads more stuff.
I finally came back and now i cant unlock the door and there is no key to be found.
I think i have read a few posts that say if you a have a key for example a golden one and go to another dungeon that has another golden key for that zone. if you open the door for that key you will lose both of the ones you have so i would love that dungeons plus the mansion one.
Is this a known bug. am i now ♥♥♥♥♥♥? im about 50 hours playtime in so ill be raging if im now game broken.

Yep I reckon I made the same mistake. Went wandering after clearing level one and now I can't access level 2.

No backup saves either :(

Anyway to cheat a gold key?

Same here, no gold key, I thought I had a key, but gave up and came back after I completed main quest.

And for those worried, you don't need the shard of light to finish main quest, so it's not too bad a bug.

God, I hope they have fixed that in released version, otherwise I am so SCREWED!!

In some point you have to put all 3 switches to down position but golden key is behaind that angel statuet there is a chest there and in it golden key

People are misunderstanding you - just figured it out myself. Chest is at 1,8 with the gold key. You need to use the levers in a order to open the doors. - Trial and error
