Skills question
Just getting started and am Level 3 on some party members and 2 on Level 4; have added some spells, but not much else. Am headed to Agryn Peninsula.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but at what point will I be able to upgrade my skills from the Novice level? I have traded some weapons/armor for better ones. The trainers in Sorpigal are not able to upgrade my skills yet. I have an Orc Barbarian, Elf Bladerunner, Dwarf Runepriest and Human Freemage, all of which I manually created. When can I expect some ability to increase my skills. TIA

As you gain levels you get points to put into your skills. To upgrade them hit the little symbol on the top right of the character portriat. When you get enough points you can upgrade from Novice to Expert then to Master and then Grandmaster.

To reach Expert level in any skill requires you to put 7 skill points (1 to unlock it, then a further 6 points to hit Expert) into it and train with an Expert trainer for 500gold. Not every expert trainer is in Sorpigal (or the surrounding area), but 95% are obtainable by the second town. If you look at your skills page, you will see the dots signifying Expert/Master/Grandmaster with a description of what you receive at those levels. On top of that, spells and weapons/armor require a certain level that require you to have trained to that rank (eg you cannot equip an Expert dagger without paying the 500g for expert dagger training, with the skill points spent). So to answer your first question - level 3 is the lowest level you can reach Expert in something.

Thanks so much to both posters for your explanations.
