Please explain "Perception"
Does perception effect how the party see's secrets walls, door, levers "etc". My main charactor has a perception of 16 but I cannot find any secret walls, doors etc. In the Den of Thives for example I'm told there is secret doors, walls, levers but I have cleaned it out and no one in my party mentions any secrets they have noticed??? I cannot get to the Dens level two to find this Luke if my team cannot or will not notice any secret stuff. Is any other skill needed for them to notice these secret things? thanks.

Perception doesn't have any effect of visibility of hidden doors. Some doors require perception to open them (ones with gears on the wall).

Easiest way to see secrets is with the Dark Magic spell Whispering Shadows.

you may need a perception of 20 in some dungeons even on the beginne island, and it opens then gears.
but as above stated there are 3 different skills or say one par example dark magic workin all influencing for there part the outcome.

Crack = Might
Gears = Perception
Circles = Magic

Finding them the only way I know is with the spell or scrolls...or Rosalie when she's in your party. I am not sure if there is another way to see secrets. If not, it kinda sucks because it would require you to have a Dark Mage point on one char...so maybe there is some other way..but I've no clue.

So Whispering Shadows scroll or spell, or Rosalie, or also there is a dog NPC hire later named Spike that can detect secrets.

I seen a you tube clip showing the gears on the wall in the Den of thieves but when I get to the same spot in my game there is nothing there. So I need to head back to town and buy some spells and scrolls. Thanks.

Hey no problem :)

I was lucky to have 2 mages in my party so I just stuck a point into Dark magic to get the needed spell.
