No one of my characters can open secret passage...

I'm blocked in the thief den, cause no one of my character can open the secret passage with the gears, maybe because I chose 4 casters.
No way to proceed?
I'm forced to start the game again with other classes?

Did you try a couple times? Sometimes it just takes a bit longer, so do a quicksave(F5), let everyone try 2 times and quickload(F9) when it didnt work.

I had the same problem in the theives den with the gears.
I did it for 20 minutes, with my druid giving us regen so it was continuous clicking for 20 minutes and no reloading. Still nothing. I gave up and did other quests. Dont know why. I thought maybe perception was the problem but it wasnt.

Was reading about this on the forums and had it happen to my brother, there are 3 types of hidden passages that we have seen so far
Might-Break the wall, Magic-Dispel illusion, and Mechanical(As best I can tell) You have to have a high perception my brother had around 20 before that door would open and it frustrated the crap out of him too expecially because perception is a meh stat. I hope that helps

Thanks Dan, I opened the passage using the "Eagle Eye" spell (need perception 15 to open it)
But I found just a chest inside and I'm still blocked. :(

Thats ood cause I tried my guy with high perception and still nothing... ugh... I wont ever go back there..

There is another hidden door near the book on the left.

Just go to the end and youll see it

I reached here before I did the lighthouse. I could not open this wall. I went away, did the lighthouse and came back. I was able to open it once I had leveled up.

none of my character have higher than a 12 in perception and it openend for me first time. I think my crusader pulled it off after the gears knocked my freemage out. The crusader would have starting stats +1 vitality, and +23 strength if that helps identify what stats are needed. No direct stat boosting items were equiped.

There is another door on the other side that is hidden with magic that has a lever that opens a door give me a few and I will jump on my brothers game to give you the coordinates to it and the door to where you need to go for the next level.

Alright so the coordinates are 4,6 and facing south on the minimap there is a hidden magic wall. My free mage had a magic of 20 and opened it fine not sure what it requires so sorry for that, then pull the lever in there which openes a door at 3,2 which is southwest of the lever and open the chest for some items. From there head to to the other rooms for a few extra items and the key which is in the southwest room and head to the southeast room and unlock it. Go into the room and go to 7,2 and look north have your fighter character smash it down (had my 15 might crusader break it) and head down to the second level it is pretty straightforward down there but be very careful of the boss waiting. Hope that helped you guys out it left my brother scratching his head for awhile too remember you can buy scrolls of whispering shadows for 100 gold that reveal hidden walls when you walk by them or you can learn it if you have a freemage in the darkness spellbook.
