Game runs like absolute crap on a pretty beefy rig.
Currently playing, and I gotta say this game runs like ♥♥♥♥ on my GTX 680 Classified. I have EVGA precision and the resource monitor loaded in the background and I get framerate drops in game (Especially when I'm fighting spectres, it drops to like 10 FPS). I checked both applications and I never use more than 40% of my GPU and CPU, and I have 32gb of ram so I know its not that. I'm on Windows 8 64 bit. All drivers updated to the max. Even with settings set to the minimum and at 800x600 resolution it still drops to 10 fps. This performance in this game is abysmal. I am looking to get a refund.

Something I forgot to ask intially...

Do you know if your using a dynamic page file system or if your pc is using a fixed number. Sometims if your using one that changes dynamically and you play a poorly optimized game it can lead to "thrashing" which could be what your experiencing.

If you don't know which your system is running let me know and I can help you check it out.

I've seen the page file debate so much and always tend to come to the conclusion that with modern day PC's and Windows 7 or 8 you don't have to adjust these, and just let Windows handle it..

Whether that is true or not, I have no clue.

I personally have not changed my page file, Windows handles it and it's on an SSD.
lol 40 fps is very playable..even 30 fps is. People have come to expect to much in this day and age. The game is not a free movement game or an action game..Its a grid based game..with a turn based combat system. I am just now purchasing the game so I have not played it yet..but if it is like the first M&Ms. The camera moves from grid to grid and rotates in 4 directions. FPS has absolutely no effect on combat or anything...except maybe how fast you can turn to face enemys. But even 30 fps is .033 seconds .It could not take more than 1 second to pivot through 90 degrees.

There's a big difference in a smooth 40 fps and a choppy 40 fps though. Also some people are more sensitive to the visual frames than others. Tons of people can't even tell or are not bothered by 30 or 40 or whatever FPS....but others like myself are extremely sensitive to that stuff.

It's often (in my opinion) the same people who like myself get motion sickness in games and such that have that issue.

So for you to asume you know what it's like for other people is rather silly.

Great that it works for you and you can play without being bothered..others..not so much.

There's a program you can run to fix that, some other guy was posting about it. Makes the game prettier and smoother
I get the same issues as you, when playing FPS games that aren't synced properly I get terrible nausea after an hour or so.

Most of the time the page file is no big deal at all, but with a game that limits the system to 2gb of ram it becomes more of an issue. Because your OS is adjusting the size of the page file based on program requests and needs then it's not going to allot more than 2gb even though with 32gb of RAM you could easily request the equivalent size page file. It may not be the issue at all.

If it's a stuttering effect killing your FPS then it's more likely related to the number of pre-rendered frames that your GPU is allowed to create.
Given that this game isn't entirely in real time having 60 FPS is more of a luxury than a requirement.
i recently uninstalled logmein and saw a 130% (yes really) increase in performance in SOME games... not all were affected, not sure why. but if you have logmein or teamviewer or some other remoting software, you might want to consider removing/rebooting and see if your performance improves. i suspect the way they handle display redirection may be making some things run like crap...
This, people ****ing about 40 fps in a TURN BASED GAME , lawl.

Yeah, it sounds ridiculous. But, when you have the horsepower, you expect games to run as smooth as possible.

I agree, but at the same time. I have a PC that I've built and upgraded myself and, even though it's not as high powered as some, I've gotten used to the beautiful graphics running smoothly at 60 fps.

So when I run into a game that has no where near the requirements of other games I play, but somehow runs poorly in comparison, I ask why. I think that's essentially what the OP is doing.
I'm no dev but it's one thing to say you have everything updated properly and actually having everything updated properly. Unless you provide the developers a DXconfig to look at you stating you have everything updated means absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Before you bash a game which quite frankly for me runs on a laptop without any issues whatsoever you might want to head over to the main support site for the game and ask some advise.
It runs as ♥♥♥♥ because it is pos. Evidentlly optimization does not work at Ubisoft. Screw them then. BTW before you buy read the forums. That is what i do this days.
