For whatever it's worth even if you bought the game directly through Steam you'd still have to register a Uplay account. Also, you may want to check the recently active topics regarding connection to authentication server (or lack thereof specifically).
Oh, steam key for Mac users? Thank you for the Answer. I dont mind where I have to play the game, as long as I can play it. Thank you.
That sucks. I wonder how close I am on beating the act one. I am currently level 6 and I enjoy this game so far.
You guys, I managed to get into act 2.
I did do the following things: I edited the LevDialog.xml like described here: https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/708378-might-and-magic-x-legacy/68454613
And after closer inspection I saw a Line which said something about the mule follower. So I released them aswell and it worked. I was able to fly to the elemental Forge and am now in Seehaven.
EDIT: Note: After I edited the xml file my game got updated again, so I dont know if the editing solved the issue or just releasing my horse but one of the both was the solution for me.
Two things though, were you able to redeem any bonus items or Uplay rewards?
And if you try to walk back to the first town is there a guard still blocking the bridge?
I'm asking because I'm still going back and forth with Ubisoft support
Yes he is still blocking the bridge and no, Uplay rewards still dont work. I should have gotten points by finishing act 1 but didnt happen unfortunatly.
So the work around just lets you into the forge, but anything else that's supposed to happen when you connect to Uplay doesn't.
Bah, this means we really do need to wait for Ubisoft to fix whatever this is before we can play the game normally.
So yeah.
