HumbleBundle, Uplay and not steam? I am confused
Hello guys, so I just bought this game on HumbleBundle, including Heroes of M&M 7.
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/might-magic-x-legacy-digital-deluxe
But Now I am Kinda confused, maybe I did something wrong because it was only my second time I bought something on HumbleBundle, but in Order to redeem the keys I needed to download and register in Uplay and it directly downloaded those games. So, I cannot play those through steam or did I make a mistake? I mean as long as I can play them I dont mind too much, however I personally prefer one interface where I have all my games. Or do I really need to play those games through uplay?

From the product page: Might & Magic® X - Legacy Digital Deluxe is provided via Uplay key for Windows and Steam key for Mac. For key redemption, a free Uplay or Steam account is required.

For whatever it's worth even if you bought the game directly through Steam you'd still have to register a Uplay account. Also, you may want to check the recently active topics regarding connection to authentication server (or lack thereof specifically).

Oh, steam key for Mac users? Thank you for the Answer. I dont mind where I have to play the game, as long as I can play it. Thank you.

Again, there is currently an issue with the game not accessing the authentication servers and consequently not letting players progress past the end of act 1. Ubisoft is mum about any timeline for fixing the problem.

That sucks. I wonder how close I am on beating the act one. I am currently level 6 and I enjoy this game so far.

You'll be about level 10 when you finish act 1.

You guys, I managed to get into act 2.

I did do the following things: I edited the LevDialog.xml like described here: https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/708378-might-and-magic-x-legacy/68454613

And after closer inspection I saw a Line which said something about the mule follower. So I released them aswell and it worked. I was able to fly to the elemental Forge and am now in Seehaven.

EDIT: Note: After I edited the xml file my game got updated again, so I dont know if the editing solved the issue or just releasing my horse but one of the both was the solution for me.

Glad to hear that you got past that part

Two things though, were you able to redeem any bonus items or Uplay rewards?
And if you try to walk back to the first town is there a guard still blocking the bridge?

I'm asking because I'm still going back and forth with Ubisoft support

Yes he is still blocking the bridge and no, Uplay rewards still dont work. I should have gotten points by finishing act 1 but didnt happen unfortunatly.

Thanks, it's been awhile since I've played the game, but I'm like 90% sure the bridge guy should take off after you finish the forge.

So the work around just lets you into the forge, but anything else that's supposed to happen when you connect to Uplay doesn't.

Bah, this means we really do need to wait for Ubisoft to fix whatever this is before we can play the game normally.

I think I've seen someone mention a file edit fix for the bridge as well (though it's less common, might require some googling around to find it) plus I'm sure at least one person on the official forums claimed you can use the carriage travel between Sorpigal and Seahaven once you turn in the forge quest (which is also when the bridge obstruction should disappear)... except that will add up in costs over time, also some people claim that the file editing solution may cause save corruption later on AND you'll still be locked out of the extra content (and uplay rewards if you care about those).

So yeah.
