I have "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic" as one of my last hardcopy games somewhere flying around here, but i deinstalled it after less then one hour of playtime - that's all i remember about it. Thanks for your info thou :)

Stranger of Sword City has a new-ish feel to me. Operation Abyss New Tokyo is a remake of an older game, but it doesn't feel dated at all. Haven't played Operation Babel, but it's likely more of the same from Abyss. Swords and Sorcery: Underworld was made within the last 5 years I believe.
lords of xulima comes really close but I thought it was superior in every aspect beside riddles. Though the world traveling is isometric but still same concept
