Wierd visual issue
So i recently decided to go back and beat some of my unfinished games and decided to start with might and magic X. it was fine at first but now i am getting a strange visual issue. not sure if it is a bug or a graphics problem. there is a picture of it on my steam profile

Here's how to install:

1. Go to https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.8.1

2. Download dxvk-1.8.1.tar.gz

3. Unpack dxvk-1.8.1.tar.gz using 7-Zip

4. Now you have to unpack (again) dxvk-1.8.1 which was unpacked in step 3.

5. Go to the dxvk-1.8.1\x32 folder (NOT the x64 version -- M&M X is a native 32-bit program)

6. Copy everything in there to your M&M X location, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy

7. Launch the game, that's it!

Turn off HDR under Graphic Settings.

That's a known problem ingame. Nothing wrong with your Graphic card.

well i turned it off and now my enemies are sparkling. it looks like someone took a needle and punched a bunch of holes in them to let light through, but at least it is not a black square.

I have the exact same issue ! HDR off does not improve anything!

Well, the sparkling i think was intended to be, because they are Dark Soldiers with, ahm, a sparkling effect like Vampires in the Movie. :OP

No clue as it is intended or not, it didn't bothered me. I look it as an effect that sugest extra evil soul spirit, or something like that.

yeah allen i noticed yours after i posted mine. i dont think the sparkle is supposed to be there. at least it was not there till i was forced to update my graphics card.

Ok, posted this on another thread, but just in case somebody lands here:

HOW TO FIX IT:
I went and reverted the drivers to the oldest available for my GTX 1080 and win10 64x. For me those are version 368.81 (from July 2016). Installed without a problem. And the flickering is gone. I would even say it's faster now (at least loading is faster, that's my perception)

This problem is related to latest NVIDIA drivers.

The instalation of the old drivers is straight forward and you can always go to the panel and UPDATE to go back to the latest.

If you are playing any newer game (launched after July 2016) then you should check NVIDIA release notes to make sure reverting the drivers won't affect that game.

So I went through the painstaking process of installing Nvidia Geforce drivers one by one (using DDU each time when uninstalling drivers). Geforce driver 373.06 is the last working driver for this game. Drivers newer than 373.06 will cause strobing white or distorted characters.

My video card is INVIDIA GTX 1060 3GP and win 7 64x. I tried both 368.81 and 373.06 drivers but the system says that both drivers are incompatible with my video card. How did you installed these drivers in your video cards?

What graphics settings are you using? 4K??
I had the problem at 4K, and turning off HDR seems to have fixed it

Dear UBI,

It prolly takes 1 person to fix the graphic issues to make it work with the latestl drivers, stop being lazy and just do it!

Please, please, please: fix this, Ubi!

Already tried HDR on and off. Did not work.

I want to play this game so much but this graphical bug on many enemies just destroys the game. Please, we paid for this. We love Might and Magic. Fix this. :-(

Same problem here. Most of the enemies late in the game I can't even see.
