Gnopper plants not growing maws
Background: I have completed the game's "bad" ending and have all the extractor upgrades.

When I plant a Gnopper, the plant never produces a maw. Instead, the stem just keeps continuing to grow until it reaches the branch weight, at which point the stem just stops growing (since it has no more plant weight to use).
The below screenshot shows an example in-game: this Gnopper plant extends 3 whole rooms before it finally runs out of plant weight, and it is just a stem.

I have tried: waiting multiple cycles, fertilizing the Gnopper plant with compost and food, trimming the Gnopper stem (this creates a fork as it should, but then each branch just grows stems), trimming the maw from a naturally-spawning Gnopper (it just regrows as a stem), removing the maw from a naturally-spawning Gnopper with the splicer then use the sprayer to make it regrow (it just grows a stem).

Does anybody know what I can do to get Gnopper maws to grow?

I'm having the same issue. I'm afraid to splice the natural grown Gnopper maws, because I don't know if they'll grow back when I trim them.

Same issue. Report here. https://www.ultrosgame.com/support
I'm having this exact issue. Just submitted - very frrustrating glitch to an otherwise great game imo. One thing I did that I don't believe was intended - after breaking one of the Shamasal's the extractor has the ability to break the black barriers- I actually went to another area early (Pantheon I beleive ) and broke the Shamasal there as well before going back to the core so I effectively doubled up. I hadn't encountered gnopper plants before that point so I'm not sure if that had an influence but I thought I'd mention just in case.

This happen to me on Xbox, and with a few attempts of cutting off plus spray in the same area I got it to grow, it seems that if you spray to much ahead they split and then they might not grow. In the ones that I spliced they always grown back though
