Ultros
A Narrative Metroidvania, but I'm wondering..
Hi!

I just read an interview to Pelle Cahndlerby, the narrative designer of the game.
So i read that the game want to tell a story, with a vision ecc, i tried the demo and I saw that there are " visions " , cutscenes that explain something about the world.
I still ( of course ) don't know if the game has some lore files to find and read, so I'm wondering, is there something like that into the game?
And that cutscenes can I see them again when I want? Because in the demo once you saw it you can't rewatch it anymore.

I'd like to have some kind of lore in the game.

I was wondering about this too, and in the full game there is indeed a location to rewatch all cutscenes/visions.

The characters themselves do give a bit of the lore, and that is sadly not able to be viewed again, BUT the blue flower lore snippits (mostly telling you about each of the characters), as well as the visions/cinematics can be rewatched at a location in the game that is fairly quick to access from the loop spawn point.

So you can read and watch when you want that kind of lore through the blue flower thing...sounds good.

I'm interested in the game, I hoped there was some kind of collectible to read...well we'll see!

I read that the lenght is like 13 hours or so...

For a metroidvania/roguelike seems too short... I hope it's longer than this.

They're actually all watched at a single specific location after you've unlocked them .

As far as the playtime - it's pretty flexible, I could beat the game in under 5 hours if I had to (since I know where to go), first run to "an ending" will be 8-10 for most people I think, and to 100%, will take closer to 20-30 probably for most people without a guide.

As far as how that compares to other metroidvanias - haven't seen a metroidvania cross my inbox that crossed 15 hours of actual playable content the past few years (and most classic ones don't either unless you grind in them), though my bailiwick is RPGs and Metroidvanias, while I dabble in roguelites/roguelikes from time to time, they're not something I particularly enjoy reviewing (for the same reason I only review the core game of aRPGs, not the endgame)

Don't forget about this

"There are three different endings -

we hope that you will have great fun discovering them all!"

Now, I have no clue if the endings are tied to anything specific (having to pick between choices, go a certain way while avoiding the other, be a pacifist etc) so, this will probably be tricky to figure out without a guide.

I think the right way to say that is "people can beat the game in under 5 hours, if they know where to go and what to do" since anyone can do it.

I'll be taking my time with this game. No rush to end such a lovely, epic, psychedelic trip.
