Crash Fix
i was all excited to play this highly toted game. i downloaded the First Look to give it a try and after nearly 3 hours download time, I finally was able to click that big green Play button. It loaded just fine. I made it through the tutorial on how to swing, chip, and putt. But as soon as the create a player screen came up, the game crashed. it did this 3 times. I thought ok, maybe its just the First Look version of the game. I had every intention of buying the game, so after purchasing the legends version for $123 I kind of expected to be able to play. But i was wrong. It did the same thing. I get through the tutorial and as soon as I click on create player it freezes and kicks me out. It doesnt even give me an error code or nothing. It just shuts down. Oh yea, i turned my graphic settings to the lowest they possibly go cuz i know my laptop is a POS, but it still crashes.

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? Is there a fix? Or do i need to upgrade my computer which i plan on doing anyways?

The game crashes every time I turn it on. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, it just crashes after a few minutes. I think Unity has something to do with it. I've had problems with Unity in the past on other games. I'm no PC guru, but I do know my system should be more than strong enough to run the game. Can somebody please help me. Thanks.

Hey bud, the 13700k (what i have) used to have stability issues 13900k,14700k and 14900k have them too and it was not till intel released a micro code patch that it stopped for me.

You may want to do a bios update to get the patch and see if it fixes your issues, its not that hard to update bios.

also checking the reliability monitor can help narrow down what the crash is by googling the error code for the crash. (to use reliability monitor just hit start type reliability and click view reliability history and find the error for your crash i used to get error c000005 i think it was and that was my cpu causing it.)
I brought up the reliability monitor and I don't see any error codes. All I see is what kind of failure occurred. I do find it interesting however that I see 12 application failures and no windows failures. But according to some of the white knights on here, it's not the game. Yeah, right.

check the game specs against your system specs . laptops in general are notoriously weak on the graphics end and many dont even have a dedicated graphics card which is pretty much required for this game .

I wanted to thank you for your advice. Error c000005 was causing my PC to crash as well and I was able to fix the problem. Again, thank you so much for your help.

As i said in my response yesterday to one of your other posts, you NEED to rma your cpu too. It may seem ok now but it 100% is damaged. Intel extended the rma windows on them and if you purchased a prebuilt they should have no issue replacing it for free too. The issue with the microcode was with voltages supplied by the motherboard to the cpu being much higher than they should have been.

No matter what it seems like, that cpu is going to die much much faster than it should and 100% will cause you issues for its lifetime. If you want to avoid that, it needs to be replaced.
