Wind effect Under 100 Yards
I have become confused with the wind effect on a shot under 100 yards. Sometimes it has an impact, other times a slight effect, sometimes no effect. I realise that the height of the shot maybe a factor, but it does not seem to be consistent. Is there a calculating factor that works, or is it just hit and miss? (pun intended)

below 100 yards - 1mph equals ~0.7 yards
above 100 yards - 1 mph equals 1.09 yards

wind above 15mph - equals ~1.5yards

i might be wrong but that is what works for me

Ok...thanks for the reply. I will try those numbers.

I heard wind doesn't affect the spinner shot so that might be what you are seeing as well.

foot lie is probably the most contributing factor to this scenario. The ball in general isnt in the air long when its traveling sub 100 yards hence why the wind doesnt affect it very much. Now if you have a slight uphill foot lie causing the ball to stay in the air longer the wind affects should be a little more and vice versa.

Take a look at this video, he does a whole series breaking down the mechanics of the game.

The thing with the wind is it shows say a 7 wind but in fact it could be a 4 or even a 10 there’s just no way of knowing

I can handle the wind when it's over a longer distance. I understand and use the calculations shown in that video. The longer shots are ok. It's the short high pitch shots that seem to have the most variation. There just doesn't seem to be a consistent effect. I used to think that the wind had no effect under a 100 yds, but that is not true all of the time. Maybe on low punch and spinner shots there is no effect, but once the ball is hit high in the air there is some wind effect. I tried the 0.7 / 1 mph and that seemed to work a little better.

The wind in this game is a joke. Hitting with a 4mph wind behind. Pin at the back of the green, aim shy of the green thinking the wind would carry it. Still went over tje back of the green.

2mph Cross wind, adjust accordingly, end up in a bunker off the green. Wind is inaccurate

Just had a 5mph tail wind. So that should carry the ball, right? You'd think so. Shows the ball will reach the green. Hit the ball dead straight. Lands short of the fairway in the rough. Like it had a 5mph wind against the ball.

Joke of a system.
