As for the AI, try raising the overall difficulty in the settings and not just adjusting the slider. Go to settings, then "opponent difficulty" and set it to Master. Then tab over to "Simulation difficulty" and set the CPU skill slider to 100%. Then reduce both CPU event/round skill deviation to 0%. When starting out the AI were putting up minimal scores. Now I have them doing -10 to -15 a round making it more competitive.
If you're not in the top 10-15 going into the final round, chances are you'll be playing the course early in the day. So your round ended currently at 19th place with other golfers still having to play their round. They probably finished with better scores at the end which bumped you down the leader board to 25th.
