Splash Shot
Can anyone tell me a good method to hit a shot from a greenside bunker? My shots always seem to go close to flying the green. Even if the distance given is, say, 7 yards or so the HUD tells me to swing at something around 70% and off the ball flies, sometimes into a bunker on the other side of the green. I know from real experience that an explosion shot (splash shot?) takes a lot of effort (nearly a full swing). The game does not seem to reflect that and the lesson isn't very helpful either.

Pitch shot with minimal distance, partial swing and full backspin maybe.

I can not induce back spin on any shot with the true shot, how are you doing it?
ok so starting out the best way to get spin on a ball is to go under it far down with the left side control then do the same with the right side spin control. This is all default equipment and skills no spin stuff.

This is only useful for regular shots off the tee and you wont get as much benefit from this spin tech alone for shots like splash shot especially. Even pitch shots are not as effected as I would like but it definitely helps to stick the ball since flop does not go far enough in most cases.

The important part for the splash shots and even other shots is to pay attention to your power and it is imperative where you place your marker.

your marker will show your ball path so you see where it will land to start its roll. slash shots will roll a lot and there is not much you can do other than to do as I suggested with the spin tech on top of paying very close attention to not overpower your shots.

most shots are so forgiving or at 90+% that most dont notice this is what is happening when they have been simply relying on the rumble of the controller for eg.
Also I will say you can learn the inner mechanics of the game as to not confuse your brain where faults are happening by activating the perfect swing until you learn how to read everything else about the game. The wind, the roll, the speed, the slope of your stance, everything. Keep practicing until it's easy to land next to the pin, even in strong winds. You should be able to predict how the wind affects distance and use spin techniques to confidently land the ball near the hole.

Now after that is done you can optionally gear your character up first or just activate evo swing and you can learn where you are making mistakes without wondering what part of the thing you did wrong. Also i will say that even when you have perfect swing on you should be paying attention to your swing path the entire time of learning the game so that way you are already confident in your swing path consistency before it is activated.

I am still working on fine tuning my judgement for wind and spin and elevation in this game, and i fear once I level up my clubs and skills I will have to relearn these variables again, but at least I can know with certainty how to aim my shots after that and the rest is simply learning how to swing.

Janyha, Thank you, that works.

this does not work! it has no affect, have tested same roll out every club tested on multiple type shots

idk works for me, its subtle but definitely works or I wouldn't be doing it. Pitch shots I can get about 15% less roll out not much you still have to undershoot by about 40% instead of 50 to 60% and I have gone from forward roll outs to literal backspin roll back to the hole and I have not upgraded anything or got anything attached to my clubs or took any spin anything. It doesnt work on splahs shots but it works great for approach shots since they already stick on their own.
My shots won't stay on the green even if i do land there. I swear greens in this game are made of ice. Maybe I need some ice skates and a hockey stick...
They should add hockey gear to the store, so I feel at home on the green..
