How to play against A.I. players?

I can't seem to figure out how to do something that should be very easy. How do you add a computer-controlled opponent to your Quickplay matches?

Every time I try to add a different player, the screen comes up confirming which controller I want to use for that player. Why can't I just choose 'computer' at that point and play against, e.g., Tiger, or even another MyPlayer that I created?

Am I missing something here?

Not sure you can play against CPU controlled players in Quickplay.

Along those lines, how can you add an AI player in career mode? I can't seem to find it in the menus

Local Play:

Utilize the 'Play Now' or 'Local Match' options to set up rounds against AI competitors. You can customize match settings, select courses, and choose the difficulty level of your computer opponents. ​

Embark on a solo career where you create and develop your own golfer, competing against AI opponents in various tournaments and events. This mode provides a comprehensive single-player experience.

i was shocked also that you could not play against one of the AI Pro's.

This reply is completely bogus, and, in fact, is the exact same reply you get from Google if you search for the subject. Ironically, it's the A.I. version of the Google answer you get.

It's been a while back, but you could play against Tiger, Daly, Watson. They showed up in person to play, plus you could watch them hit and putt. It took time to play a round, but was fun.

I assume you mean in previous PGA Tour versions.
