swing angle
this swing angle makes anything after "pro mode" unplayable, you (2k/HB) are FORCING people to play YOUR way, this is NOT right! if i want to hit a draw/fade, i should be able to choose when i do

They’re called Ranked and Casual for a reason. What would be the point of having a Ranked mode that requires no skill? I can’t think of anything that’s more of a waste of time than having the devs create a Ranked playlist where the players are getting perfect shots on nearly every swing without even trying.

It’s not impossible. It takes legitimate practice. You know, like real golf?

You’re playing a golf sim. This post is reading like that “Elden Ring needs an Easy mode” article.

it's the people who don't seem to have much of a problem that say there's no issues, how about people that do have issues say something.
again, you're taking peoples natural swing and making them do something else.
Okay, first of all, I literally said I am having “issues” with the swing plane, but I know I can smooth it out with practice.

Sorry, but a golf swing is never straight up and down. This new EvoSwing is the best thing to happen to a sports game since the EA MVP Baseball mini-games back when EA actually cared about game dev.

You have a right to complain since you paid for the game, but what you’re complaining about can literally be solved with practice which is what is was designed for.

Most of us don’t want to play a golf sim that a 2 year old with barely functional motor skills and the dexterity of Shaq at the free-throw line can just pick up and dominate for free.

Drop the difficulty and stick to casual until HB inevitably gives you a 3-click ranked mode.

I did a little video I put on youtube how I hold my controller to do it quite easily when you get the muscle memory in. I still need to get the timings but the angle is 8/10 now I would say.

https://youtu.be/4bbY8F9LWHc?si=k5ybbHVpcSKwx3Jj

So the point is to kinda rest your thumbs chicken club part on the handle so you get stability and also the correct angle for the thumb when it flick up and down. That is why I crawl up on the controller a bit more to get rid of things that can create shakyness in my swing. I pretty much hold my controller straight with this technique, maybe tiny bit leaning but we talking very little almost not visible, the thumb is doing most of the diagonal flicking since I adjust it to where it feel right with my hand.

I can feel the right side of the ring of the thumbstick at the joint of the thumb in my case, that is where I have it. But remember everyones hands are different size and shape so maybe you like it a little different.

Try to avoid holding the controller normally and flick with the tip of your thumb, it becomes way too random since the joint want to bend easily during a flick and as such mess up the angle.
You don't know me. I don't know you. You have no idea how much this helped me. It feels like a different game now. Thank you, stranger.

lol, hey stranger glad I could be of service, now swing away!

roasted, ask refund and go back to rolling your finger on EA.

You have never played golf in real life, the straight shot in the game of golf does not exist, every player has a natural tendency to hit the ball in draw or fade and on this he sets his shot, if a player hits it straight is not intentional. No player can intentionally hit straight, you can ask any golfer

I've hit straight my entire life (drives opponents nuts) .. it's my natural stroke.

If a player set his stance first, then tries to fine tune by adjusting the clubhead's position or address angle .. it will be a stroke of luck to hit it straight.

I'll set the clubhead down behind the ball first with the club face as close to 90 degrees to the target as I can, then I adjust my feet/stance around the club to a position that takes my swing plane through the ball squarely. The result is very little if any side spin.

I've seen Paige Spiranac do something similar (setting the clubhead first, then walking around the club to set her stance).

You can't join a basketball league with the intention of arming yourself with a baseball bat and a flamethrower for use in every game. Sports have rules. Competitions have rules.

Ranked = Swing Stick for competitive integrity.

I'm not going to be unreasonable and say that 3-Clickers shouldn't have their own ranked section. BUT let's be real... winning while 3-Clicking is lot like playing controller in Apex and buying into the delusion that your aim is good.

You aren't really talking about simulating golf anymore, where people can swing any way they like. In reality, some swings will be more easier to make than others .. but they aren't banned. Actually they are the most used swings in the history of the game because they are easier to perform.

If it's so easy ... why don't YOU use 3-click?

No golf swing is straight. It doesn’t exist. The EvoSwing was built to simulate the difficulty of a real golf swing.

Did you even read my post, or did you see “3-click easy” and went straight to typing?

I DON’T want the game to be easy. This is a golf SIM. If you want to play an arcade golf game, there are plenty of games for you.

Gaming in 2025 is WILD. People will paint you as unreasonable for even suggesting you should practice a new mechanic to improve your skills. Holy… society is DONE.

This guy hot-dropped into the conversation with no idea what’s going on.

God’s speed, brother. You’re gonna need it.

i know whats going on...a lot of whining. like i said before if you or anyone else REALLY want(s) the game to be hard just do it. just dont upgrade stuff and see how well you do .

for example my golfer is lvl 66 and i am doing ok and having fun with no upgrades.
but heres the thing...when i DO eventually upgrade my skills and max them out i will already be shooting 3 or 4 under on 9 holes -- on legend with no upgrades.

This isn't the "gotcha" retort you think it is.

Most of us enjoy playing a game that requires the slightest bit of skill and offers some modicum of a challenge. 3 click takes ALL of that away. Why pay 60-70 bucks for a golf version of DDR with only 1 button? lol.

ANYONE can put the square block in the square hole, especially when theres only 1 block and 1 hole, and thats what 3 click is the equivalent of. It takes almost zero skill to master. Its GREAT for beginners to learn, but belongs nowhere in ranked where skill is AND should be what matters.

Right. You’re quoting me. The one who isn’t whining and telling the whiners to stop whining.

So A+ there bud.
the "angled swing" isn't about practice, it was forced on us from launch.
the EVO-swing, IMO should've been what people use as their natural swing, not this angled nonsense. people have the 7 to 2 swing as a natural swing, some have a 5 to 11, some are 6 to 12, and anything in between, why force this on people that have a natural swing type.
the angled swing, isn't natural for some people, that's all I've been trying to say.
let people play their natural swing

It is simulating the difficulty of real golf. Period.

Don’t like that? Play Pro Am. Still don’t like that? Go back to 2k23.

I'm not talking about the difficulty, I'm talking about the angled swing, its not natural for some people. and because of this, it stops people from being able to play any of the ranked events they may want to play

Struggling with finding a good grip or something else?

no, it's the controller swing angle, its slanted and its UNPLAYABLE!!! "natural" draw/fade, if want to hit a draw/fade, -I- GET to choose
yeah, it's fake in the sense that it assumes pros takeaway the club not straight back when in reality for a draw the front foot shifts forward, so the club is forced to go back straight but through from the inside, hitting the ball at an angle but with a closed face. i think the system is dumb but i like the difficulty.

The angled swing is too difficult for you. You may not want to admit it, but that’s exactly what you’re saying.

No golf swing is straight up and down. It is a diagonal arc around your body like a planet’s axis. 2k25’s swing plane emulates the difficult of real golf.

You are complaining bc you’re bad and don’t want to practice to get better. Everyone is on the same playing field bc of this new mechanic.

There are options in the game to give you the easier experience. Use them instead of trying to ruin the game for the rest of us.
