Sorry, but a golf swing is never straight up and down. This new EvoSwing is the best thing to happen to a sports game since the EA MVP Baseball mini-games back when EA actually cared about game dev.
You have a right to complain since you paid for the game, but what you’re complaining about can literally be solved with practice which is what is was designed for.
Most of us don’t want to play a golf sim that a 2 year old with barely functional motor skills and the dexterity of Shaq at the free-throw line can just pick up and dominate for free.
Drop the difficulty and stick to casual until HB inevitably gives you a 3-click ranked mode.
lol, hey stranger glad I could be of service, now swing away!
I've hit straight my entire life (drives opponents nuts) .. it's my natural stroke.
If a player set his stance first, then tries to fine tune by adjusting the clubhead's position or address angle .. it will be a stroke of luck to hit it straight.
I'll set the clubhead down behind the ball first with the club face as close to 90 degrees to the target as I can, then I adjust my feet/stance around the club to a position that takes my swing plane through the ball squarely. The result is very little if any side spin.
I've seen Paige Spiranac do something similar (setting the clubhead first, then walking around the club to set her stance).
You aren't really talking about simulating golf anymore, where people can swing any way they like. In reality, some swings will be more easier to make than others .. but they aren't banned. Actually they are the most used swings in the history of the game because they are easier to perform.
If it's so easy ... why don't YOU use 3-click?
Did you even read my post, or did you see “3-click easy” and went straight to typing?
I DON’T want the game to be easy. This is a golf SIM. If you want to play an arcade golf game, there are plenty of games for you.
Gaming in 2025 is WILD. People will paint you as unreasonable for even suggesting you should practice a new mechanic to improve your skills. Holy… society is DONE.
ok then dont upgrade your clubs or shots at all and use legend swing. thats how i am playing .
God’s speed, brother. You’re gonna need it.
i know whats going on...a lot of whining. like i said before if you or anyone else REALLY want(s) the game to be hard just do it. just dont upgrade stuff and see how well you do .
for example my golfer is lvl 66 and i am doing ok and having fun with no upgrades.
but heres the thing...when i DO eventually upgrade my skills and max them out i will already be shooting 3 or 4 under on 9 holes -- on legend with no upgrades.
This isn't the "gotcha" retort you think it is.
Most of us enjoy playing a game that requires the slightest bit of skill and offers some modicum of a challenge. 3 click takes ALL of that away. Why pay 60-70 bucks for a golf version of DDR with only 1 button? lol.
ANYONE can put the square block in the square hole, especially when theres only 1 block and 1 hole, and thats what 3 click is the equivalent of. It takes almost zero skill to master. Its GREAT for beginners to learn, but belongs nowhere in ranked where skill is AND should be what matters.
So A+ there bud.
the EVO-swing, IMO should've been what people use as their natural swing, not this angled nonsense. people have the 7 to 2 swing as a natural swing, some have a 5 to 11, some are 6 to 12, and anything in between, why force this on people that have a natural swing type.
the angled swing, isn't natural for some people, that's all I've been trying to say.
let people play their natural swing
Don’t like that? Play Pro Am. Still don’t like that? Go back to 2k23.
I'm not talking about the difficulty, I'm talking about the angled swing, its not natural for some people. and because of this, it stops people from being able to play any of the ranked events they may want to play
No golf swing is straight up and down. It is a diagonal arc around your body like a planet’s axis. 2k25’s swing plane emulates the difficult of real golf.
You are complaining bc you’re bad and don’t want to practice to get better. Everyone is on the same playing field bc of this new mechanic.
There are options in the game to give you the easier experience. Use them instead of trying to ruin the game for the rest of us.
