Putting Problems

I have been playing for about a week and have levelled up My Player Attributes to 79. The problem that I'm having with putting is driving me slightly crazy! On mid range putts, say 8 to 15 feet I am constantly missing by an inch or so. It's not the distance that's the problem, it's reading the slope of the green. A lot of putts just do not drop and there's just a tap in to obtain a par. My question is, is one of the putting attributes going to improve this? If so, which one? I have to admit that I don't fully comprehend the impact that the different Attributes have on putting. I have gone back to putting training, but this has not helped as the Training green is very slow and putting is a lot easier there than on a faster green.
Any advice welcome.

I prefer to make a cleaner strike on the ball because the slightest deviation will push or pull the putt and from your 8-15ft that makes a huge difference. I would recommend for new players to use their putt previews to see the path until they get a better understanding of the green line reads.

Thanks for that answer. I will struggle on and keep working at increasing my Attribute levels. I didn't think there would be an instant fix.

The putting has gotten a lot harder for me since the last patch. It was hard before, but now I rarely make a difficult putt.

I agree that it shouldn't be easy. I was just wondering if there was a particular Attribute that might improve my aim. More practice, a lot more I think.

Whatever stat controls the two contact points at the top and bottom make a huge difference for me.

As soon as I started playing a round after the latest update I noticed a change. I think they've probably made changes to the rhythm settings for putting.

I find rhythm is pretty punishing. Slightly too fast and I'm hitting it through the break and vice versa. This might be why you're burning edges.

I'll take any advice at the moment. I will increase my rhythm Attribute and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

One thing that helps me greatly on all shots is to only pull the stick back a very short distance and wait for the expanding circle to complete. Logically, I think this makes the forward stroke shorter and so is easier to be accurate with it. Good luck.

it might be that you hit exactly the putt you wanted to, but the green grid system lied to you!

When using the Putt Preview they are also missing. Putt Preview shows it going in the hole. You swing and get all PERFECTS and it misses right, left or short. I also have an issue when Preview misses, you adjust and the put goes where the orginal Preview line is. Frustrating

I have increased my Rhythm Attribute and that has helped reduce the narrow misses. They still happen, but not as often. Earlier I was missing nearly every putt by an inch or less. Using the putt preview has also helped in reading the green. I was also adding more left or right bias than the shot required. Slowly improving.
