Golfer level vs OVR
What is the difference between the two ratings. I have a golfer at level 12 ovr 65 and a new golfer level 1 ovr 65. Trying to decide if there is a disadvantage to switching to Technician from Sculptor to get pick skill.

Your OVR is based on your attributes and how many attribute points you have assigned. Your level is based on earned XP and is how you earn skill points.
Ok, that makes sense. Since I haven't used either points I'm not losing anything by starting over with a new golfer. Are the skill tree attributes shared among all golfers or unique to each golfer like attributes?
Each golfer is unique and starts from scratch, however, if you get your first golfer to 90+ OVR any future created golfers will start at level 25 with an appropriate number of attribute points.
I appreciate the quick replies, the info was quite helpful. I'll focus on getting my Technician up to 90+.

That is a solid plan. I think starting with a technician and getting them to 90 is the meta for none elite players. Play on whatever level suits you to get that level 90. I've found that winning more tournaments and playing lower score rounds almost makes up for the XP loss of playing at a lower skill level.
The game does seem to get easier once you've got your skills up and some shots from the skill tree to get you out of trouble.
Fewer massive slices and hooks, more consistent putting and recovery.
But before I felt that change - I had to level a golfer up. Pro was way too high for my first golfer till they had managed to grind out enough skill points. Now it's still tough...but now at about 80 skill points put into the stuff I'm really weak at, I sometimes make the cut on a 2 day tourny and my sponsors seem happier. :)

These sims are a lot tougher until you are able to level up your golfer. The timing of this release is ideal for me as I live in SE Asia and we are heading into our summer over the next 3 months. Temps this upcoming weekend are predicted to be 36 C (97 F) and only heading higher which means I'll be spending a lot more time indoors under the A/C, lol. As a consequence I should be getting plenty of time in to level up my golfer. I'm only playing one day tourneys for regular events and 2 days for all the important tournaments, Hoping this strategy works for my first golfer.
