If you played 3 click in ranked in 2k23 you won't be able to do that anymore.
Besides, the game is great so far. I have roughly 40 hours into it now, my main player is at 90ovr already and i'm having a blast.
No ghost breaks in greens so far for me but that doesn't mean anything. Haven't played enough to really experience all the greens.
I switched from 3 click in 2k23 to the new evo swing in 2k25 because of the ranked matchplay this year. This is almost all i play and have played in 2k23.
Visually the game made a step upwards. Scenery is king this time. Characters and spectators got a tiny bump in visual fidelity but the star of the game are the courses itself imo.
I haven't encountered bugs so far besides 1. My starter pack items are missing to this day.
The game menus can feel very sluggish at times. They respond very delayed. Might be the online servers itself.
Gameplay on the other hand is better this year. Shortgame was made substantially harder which i love personally. No more endless flops that stick like glue or chip shots all the time.
You gotta think more this year.
No more sticky fringes which is a huge one and putting overall feels smoother.
Rough is not as punishing as it was imo but you get punished hard for even slight swing mistakes, be aware.
I'd really recommend it if you had fun in 2k23. Try out the free trial and decide for yourself but be aware. Your trial myplayer can get to max 70ovr and you cannot unlock other shot types that also help. You might feel weak at first but get the hang of the evo swing and you'll have a great time, i promise.
Hope that helped a bit.
Hoping to see you on the greens.
Cheers
Edit: Forgot to mention that these slowdowns from 2k23 aren't happening anymore. No stuttering so far for me.
In fact, in my opinion, it competes easily with the Trackman sims you sometimes see in walk-in golf simulator places, one of which I do the PC maintenance for. I think this game is good enough to have a Trackman connected to it and used for exactly that. That's how good it is.
Online unranked matchplay is on pro-am difficulty. Ranked matchplay is at pro difficulty.
Ranked Tours Events are from pro-am to masters available.
That's good to know, are you sure unranked is pro-am? not tried online but that's my limit for now pro is super hard.
Yes i am sure.
Yes, simple online matchplay .
The new mouse swing (or stick swing) is arguably much easier than on 2k23 and basically negates the need for 3 click.
The game does seem to delay during some of the menus, as someone else pointed out, which is probably a server issue.
I wonder if they have sorted the disconnection on multiplayer, when steam servers go down for maintenance on a Tuesday....
I play several other always online games and the 2K golf games are the only ones that have always disconnected me and my friends when in a multiplayer game, during this time....
The second thing are the clothes and such, where are all clothes? I got the legend edition and still there is only 3 pants to choose from which 2 are black and 1 is cowboy? Why don't they just fill up the game with cool clothes and such to give your golfer personality? If the legend edition is this skinny with clothes then how few clothes does the normal edition have? Am I missing something, do I have to play and unlock every piece of clothing or is it under a menu I missed?
The third issue that is not a deal breaker are the menus like some said, it is very sluggish. Loading between each screen/setting, long 2k stinger transition to go from my player back to the play screen. It's not a biggie but I feel that could be snappier.
The game itself looks really nice and it make me enjoy every course so far. I feel like no course is boring so far because they look nice and play nice so it's exciting every time. I'm far from a pro, I play on pro difficulty and I did a +3 yesterday still adapting to everything. My drive and approach are ok, where I lose all my shots is the putting which I explained earlier really take me for a wild goose chase.
All in all a better game than 2k23, swing feels more natural and not plagued by the fast, slow, very fast, very slow curse. I can't wait to go in later today and improve and check out more courses.
But I have to agrre with @Messiah btw you buy expensive game and you dont have pretty clothes and golf clubs and etc.. With that could be the game more funny and interesting..
But today people or company wanna more and more money.. Btw not everybody want to grinding ..
I have got time and I love more Mycareer than online btw I am always confused with online matchs.. I believe that it does latence, bugy, and every online game is little fake :D This is not a lan game but Wifi or Ethernet game.. big different ...
If you gonna play online so no.. waste the time and money, my opinion..
If you are gonna play my career like me .. it worth.. I like it.. for now, I will see
But I dont know it works fine when you wanna go to with friends.. btw I cant play online or creating room... always crash game
