Can't find a way out of the Police Station...
I like the game, but I've played it twice now in solo mode, trying to escape the PD and I just cannot find any way to get out of the police station or find the key (or whatever is needed) to open the door to 'Station 2'.

No-handholding is fine, but this is ridiculous. Some kind of hint, or signpost would be a good idea to help players like me struggling. I hope the game doesn't continue to be developed without any concessions to players who might need a bit more help.

Keys light up like control panels (not green) when you're facing them too. We've added more spawns making it harder to miss them but also still allowing for exploration as well as keys midway through for those that left them behind so you don't have to backtrack to start. No hand holding but helpful still for those that need it.

Personally I think that the problem people have navigating the police station is that there is never any indication you are going the right way.

I followed the directions on the phone all the way to the roof, where it told me to find my way to the basement, which I thought was strange. From there I had to just run around the entire roof trying to find a functional door. There is zero indication that a door cannot be opened 90% of the time, so you end up trying to open it then trying the keys on it. It's very trial-and-error and that is a problem for me.

When I finally found the door to the basement, it cannot be opened and the keys do nothing to it. I ended up circling the entire station several times trying to see if I missed anything to no avail. As far as I can tell, that's a bug, but if it's not I have absolutely no clue what I am supposed to do.

While I am definitely against changing the game to hold your hand, I do think there needs to be some change to even vaguely hint at what you are supposed to do. A phone clue saying "Get to the basement" when you are standing on the roof is almost entirely useless.

When you check your phone, it does tell you how close you are to your next objective (most of the time). As for the going to the roof then the basement, the problem is that the radio tower is down, so being on the roof is useless (Not on all playthroughs). The same stairs that brought you to the roof also bring you to the basement IIRC. Keys don't work on doors that have chains on them, that is for boltcutters. There is a door you need to hit a switch to open in the basement, other than that it shouldn't be a problem.

As for doors, there is an icon that shows up if the door is in fact openable. If the icon doesn't show up, it isn't openable. I havn't had any issues with that, though I usually try to open the door well before I even check for the icon anyways.

Use your phone a lot. Be aware of your surroundings. Though I am still quite puzzled at everyones difficulty on RPD.

Any chance I could see some screens of the phone saying how close you are to an objective or an icon saying a door is openable? I've never seen either of them and they sound like they would be really useful.

The stairs that lead to the roof also lead me to a single barricaded door. I found a guide here on steam that gave a screenshot of the basement door, its fairly early in the police station. The path from the roof lead me right back around too it, it even had a sign above it showing stairs going down. However it appears to be completely unopenable.

I understand the difference between doors locked with bolt cutters, those are clearly locked with a chain and are instantly identifiable. However, normal doors, locked doors, and impassable doors are all indentical.

whoops saw the phone objective distance thing, just doesnt happen every time. Still no sign of any door icons though.

Doors that are openable WILL have an open icon, except for doors that need keys, which are RIDICULOUSLY few. There won't be a random key door that doesn't seem like it should have a key. The only ones are the doors to the guard stations and the armory.

the police station is a nightmare to navigate(which I actually do like)- I've gotten the grasp of (cell block a/office, cell block b/courtyard/garage and cell block c/kitchen - at least on my current play through anyway) I've managed to find the keys and unlock all stations cept 4 (key doesnt seem to work on it nor is the door smashable - possible suggestion, allow certain key requiring doors to be smashable instead, stupidly dropped the keys and spent 27 minutes trying to find them again) - my problem is that Ive been to the rooftop, its told me to go to the basement instead yet the door doesnt open (key tried and failed, no chain to be cut)

this issue still needs to be addressed , on one of the modes there is positively no way to the basment. i have keys tried every door. one of these alternate levels is bugged. we play the first three quarters of the level until we reach this bug and quit.

You'll need to be more informative. We have had 0 reports until yours now suggesting there is any sort of bug. I know from experience (though due to random pathing/spawns/objectives it's always possible that I've missed it as well as everyone else) and thorough testing that there is no such bug. But if you can run us through thoroughly we may be able to help you or find that I am wrong.
