The false positive are different:
"Threat detected: Trojan:Win32/Fuery.C!cl -or-
Threat detected: Trojan:Win32/Fuerboos.C!cl "
Your clean file are 443,5KB and the contagion.exe and contagionds.exe have the same size.
The "infected" ones are 809KB, 807KB ect. and only the contagionds.exe are so big.
Why they are so much bigger? TBH - thats the point i dont understand. False positive can happen but why are those files so much bigger? :-/

Hence why the size became smaller, I also cleaned up the contagionds.exe, so it lines up with the client exe file (basically, it had a lot of unrelated crap).
In short, while I was fixing this false positive crap that Visual Studio wanted to produce, because of Microsoft own dumb update, I also cleaned up the file for the exe file.
If steam downloaded the latest file properly (or if you verify your files), you should be able to have the same version as I linked earlier from 2020-11-02. If they are on the same file as the uploaded one to virustotal, then everything should be green.
TLDR:
Microsoft updated Visual Studio 2019 that I use to compile the game code and executables with, caused every antivirus to go "this is a trojan". They fixed it on their latest update, which I used earlier for the current compiled executables. Everything should be fine now.
Veryfying doesnt help.
Always receive "update paused" when the download finished.
Bitdefender here
Nope it doesnt. I redownloaded the game.
When download finished, same problem.
Download paused and it doesnt finish
Edit: Adding to exception list doesnt work either, so far.
Wow, never experienced that in 17 years of using steam
There's only so much Jonnyboy can do. It may be that virus scanners need updating. I very much doubt there's a virus in the game if there is that'd be very rare and a matter which should be taken up with Valve cause how'd such a thing happen in the first place? Its a trusted service. By submitting code to various virus scanner companies it gets analysed and if its found to be clean should get white listed in the scanner with updates.
nice ^^ good job
