Single Player Content

What's the single-player content like in this game? Could someone, for instance, unlock all items and earn every achievement playing against bots? Or is multiplayer the only way to obtain everything?

You can gain exp and unlocks through single player no problem. Not sure about achievements on Steam, I cant see any of them being locked behind playing with human players only. This is my experience from playing around 30 hours on Epic, about half of that was playing solo vs the AI as ghost and ghostbuster.

Don't know if they've changed it in the steam release but in the previous releases of the game you can't do missions, gain levels or progress the story when playing offline, which really sucks.
I really hope they've fixed that as I'd buy the game in a heartbeat.

Yeah online solo you can, you will get exp and unlock gear and ghost types no problem.

This is no longer true. Read the patch notes. The game has progression offline now. It saves your progression locally when you play offline, then the next time you play online, all your progression is updated.

I Actually just saw that, that's great news!

Going through 4 busters as a ghost in a matter of seconds requires you to do it against 4 players. Doesn't work on bots.

Aside from that achievement everything else its pretty easy. Finding people to help you boost its easy too.

yes you can do contracts rank up in private match it works the same and has been the same on epic store as well
