cant play as a ghost

i have tried at least 15 times to play as a ghost and get ghost points but every time i start a match i start as the ghost busters and not the ghost .
if the ghost part of the game is still broken why keep it up because it is a part of the game i and likely others can not use in the first place or tie the ghost xp with the ghostbuster xp so your ghost can still get better because it is so annoying how i am tring to play as a ghost but it never works

Yeah it is annoying, annoying enough to not play it because you're essentially wasting your time looking for a game.

i saw in the singel player for the main part that they fill the extra rolls with bots so why they dont have that kind of thing for the ghost part is beyond me.

all it dose is default to the ghost busters if theres no team loaded in that is why i put in my review that the part about you playing as a ghost is a lie because its just not in the game .

the basic frame work looks to be all there but its just not active or its broken .

When you choose to play as the ghost from the ghost realm you are clicking start match and THEN choosing ghost at the left hand side before queuing up right ?.

Like this because if you do not do that it will choose ghostbuster

Like this because if you do not do that it will choose ghostbuster

i started 15 + matches and never saw this que thing so this is ether a mod or in one of the videos for the game because it is not in the game or i would have seen it .
if that is part of the next update i hope it works because that whole part of the game is pointless otherwise

No. It doesn't matter where you set the preference. That's what it is, just a preference, not a side selection unfortunately.

If you do not set your preference like i have showed there you will log as a ghostbuster which is the default setting for matches, i took that pic like 40 mins ago lol so it is definitely in the game. If i log as playing ghost 90% of the time i will play as the ghost and vice versa so getting 15 games straight not as the ghost if you have done that preference the odds of that happening would be ridiculous.

Saur2244, Cptn Spandex here is right. Set your preference and then most of the time you will be Ghost.

For me, when I set preference to Ghost. Sometimes I join a game as ghostbusters but then the games after that, I'm ghost (almost one after another match).

Doesn't matter a lot of the time it throws you in as a GB and it's annoying when you don't want to. What the OP is expecting is 100% of the time not a guess rate of 90%.

Instead of queuing it just throws you in to make matches as quick as possible.

It isn't "100% of the time" because other people can also queue with ghost preferred. If all 5 people join the lobby with ghost preferred that is a 1/5 or 20% chance that you will receive the ghost role, and if you join a lobby thats already mid match then you wouldnt be at chance to receive ghost if the role is already filled, until the next round. It's not a side selector. It's a design choice. This is the most casual asym I think I've ever played, locking roles would make it sweaty imo.

If you mark Ghost as preferred and stay in the same lobby you are likely to all get swapped out for the ghost role over a couple of games anyways. I've been in a lot of lobbies with the same 5 people where its a different person as ghost every single round. Matter of fact out of probably 50 or so games queued as ghost, probably less than 10 of those have I NOT gotten to play as ghost when I've had it preferred.

IF THERE WAS a separate queue for it like in DbD or TCM or whatever it would just result in people playing one or the other forever and tryharding as their chosen role/ghost type instead of learning the entire game and enjoying/having fun with it for what it is. Really though, it doesn't matter - people would (and will) complain either way.

Besides all of that spiel you have just written there the feature hardly works, that's the point which is going over your head. It's more like 15%, not 90%. Like the OP says it's very possible he did play up to 15 games without seeing it.

After I played 10 hours or so I was finding the same thing as OP and tonight I just tested 5 games and 0 were ghost picked.

i tested the ghost thing and did team ghost like in the pic and i got ghost 1 time and the rest of the times i keep getting ghostbuster .
i think the mode is just bugged but it was nice to play as the ghost the 1 time but the mode is a wast if all you can do is play as a ghost 1 time in a blue moon or in todays case on halloween they should have just made the ghost part its own sepret mode where you just fly around as a ghost because the chances of being one are as rare as billy ray cyrus getting another hit song .
it would be funny to see if the ghosts have there own office to battle agent the ghost busters

My point was that the feature works EXACTLY as intended, it is implemented like that intentionally. You set ghost as your preferred type, if you are the only player in the lobby that you join with ghost preferred, you will get ghost 100% of the time (on the next round start if join in progress). If 2 players have Ghost selected, it's 50%. 3 players Ghost preferred, 33.3333%. 4 Ghost preference, 25%. 5 players with ghost preference, 20%.

TLDR, it's not broken, it works exactly as it's intended - despite whether players like it or not

My 2nd point was really just my opinion, which was that having separate side selection BEFORE matchmaking would result in A, longer queue times. B, sweatier game-play.

I get that people want their choice of what to play but you guys saying "it's rare to play as the ghost" simply hasn't been my experience, and I can only speak from my own experience with the game. I personally get the ghost 75-80% of the time when I set it preferred and even sometimes get Ghost when I have Buster preferred...

Just played 3 games logging as preferred ghost and the first game threw me in as a buster to fill the gap but then both after guess what ?, i was the ghost, don't see the problem.
