Is this game any good?

I'm wondering if I should but this game, I like magic type games or games that include magic. (Mainly cause I play World Of Warcraft and I have a tauren druid, which I don't like now seeing as they nerfed the restoration druid powers so it does close to no healing power for fu*k sake!) So would this game be good for me or should I buy a different game?

If you ask me , I'ts amazing , most creative you'll find ,I can play it over and over again and never get tired.. really...
all of the bad reviews are because its a sequel and they are exoecting some things from the previous game.

I'd go for it... tons of fun .

If you want to buy this game, buy magicka 1. Trust me, it's worth the money, it's got a LOT of great DLC that are actually worth the money as well since they are minicampaigns.


Magicka 2 is boring and unfun. It's cool to mix elements at first, but nothing is as detailed as Magicka 1 and it's a loooooot slower than magicka 1.

It's not anywhere near as creative as 1. Not in gameplay or story. It's incredibly lazy in both regards.

You can't play this game all day as its not even 10 hours for the campaign.

This game is awful. They ruined the formula that made Magicka so much fun. Magic feels anemic, healing is nearly impossible, and if you don't play with a group you can't progress at all. (Unless you like insanely hard games)

I've enjoyed it so far (also a WoW veteran, never played Magicka 1). It superficially feels a bit like Diablo 3, but the spell system is way different. I've found Magicka 2 to be a nice departure from games like WoW, in that the focus is much less on gearing and specialization, and more on execution and combining spells. The firendly fire and how easily it is to accidentally hurt yourself add to the strong comedic aspect of the game, which parodies many tropes of the fantasy and gaming worlds. The story feels a little short compared to some of the big-name RPGs, but I think it was well worth the money spent.

Yes for everything eccept the difficulty since you can finish the whole game with only SSSSS AoE and revive (plus protective auras or armor) so not hard really even solo.
(Still a bad game for me don't get me wrong)

Yes but Magicka (the first) was way better, more spells (1129 vs 588, this is a FACT, math), all the spells were more powerfull (now there are only 3 powerfull spell and the others are insteed useless), and other things, so if you like this game go play the first, cause it's way better.

Excuse me, but what? How is healing nearly impossible? Are you using the Helviti staff, by any chance? I've had no trouble whatsoever to heal myself in the entire game unless I was standing in a mob. Healing is actually easier than in Magicka 1, as you can move while you do it and don't need to spam.

Secondly, the difficulty is really laughable on normal. If you're playing on Bananas, sure, but that's because it's supposed to be tough.

You could not move and cast spells in magicka 1 ... Which is a real drawback...

Dont get me wrong magicka 1 rocks I love it and yes its WAY more creative in aspects of number of magicka spells abd staff abilities .
Magicka 2 campain in short , but amazing , it really is.

But you could teleport, haste, and charge a lot faster that you didn't NEED to move.

Btw, you move incredibly slow while casting anyway. Who cares?


Magicka 2 campaign is AWFUL.
9/10 of the enemy spawns come from one area, in a line, and just zerg rush you.


The story is pretty lackluster, as well as the interactions. The bosses are boring as well. Incredibly uninspired.

Played 14.8 hours man, on record... And another 8 on my second acount (friends acount).
22 hours is enough to like the game , trust me .

That's some bug with Steam. According to your profile, you also haven't played Magicka 2 yet.
