How does multiplayer work on here?

Hi Steamians, I've been looking for a PS4 game which supports same room co-op, and it's proving very difficult to find any.

However, the way this game's multiplayer is worded implies to me that it is same-screen co-op.

However, I have no idea what "hot join" means, nor yet do I know for certain that it is same screen co-op.

Here's to hoping you guys can answer my question!

All players share the same camera, just like in the original Magicka. Split screen wouldn't really work for a Magicka game anyway.
Hot-join means that you can join and leave servers whenever you want. You couldn't do that in the original Magicka, where you could only join servers if they were in the lobby and not already playing.

Yeah it has local 4 player co-op :)

You can even play local with your buddies and online with other people at the same time!

the online matchmaking doesn't have a lobby system, but instead you would select Adventure and choose which chapter you want to look for, or start your own game for other people to join

shame there's no option for 'any' chapter though, you can only search for matches through individual chapters afaik which seems a weird way of doing things

And no way to search for Challenge matches, best to invite people on your friends list if you'd want to play Challenge mode online
