Crab Spawn Camp
Chapter 3, when i'm in the cave.
The crabs spawn frozen or what ever, I'm not able to defend myself fast enough. If I die i'm spawned and immediately surrounded by the crabs, slowed, and picked to death before I can even cast a spell (even the teleport one.) Could there be some kind of spawn protection added to prevent this or something? Pushes my nerves to it's limits that's for sure.

psst, try water and fire ;D Steamed crab is delicious (also, put a frost shield on yourself if you're getting slowed)

Use a cold absorption ward when you spawn ERRRR and then move. This way you can outrun them and they cant slow you. Otherwise consider ERRRD which will make you slower but resistant to meele damage aswell.

Or put fire ward on yourself and drop stone+fire on yourself = fire heals you and kills anyone close.

If you have a damage boost staff you can one-shot the crabs around you.

Ice staff, QRQRS area cast gets me out of sticky situations. Since the damage is technically not frost, but ice, even chilly crabs die to it.

The only method i found for the small crabs is Using SSSSS + Shift + Mouse3, it kills them instantly. Im still clueless on the spitters though, they seem to heal when they are sitting in the water, which sucks because most the play area is water.

Use a barrier against cold- create a line of steam using your sword, electrocute anything passing through the steam. On your downtime, keep up your barrier and sword spell and use push on the water wheel to open the gate.

NO WORRIES GUYS, the game glitched and went straight to the next level. I have video proof also. I will be uploading the glitch, it's hilarious, minor warning i do cuss and rage* in it.

Man, the Crab cave was hilarious when I first did it with 3 other fellow wizards. Spawns galore. Rezzes every second. Hilarious killing of allies in an attempt to blow up 30+ crabs. Lasted a good hour before the game froze, crashed, and the party of wizards was thus disbanded. It was absolute bananas.

Anyway, I went back on banana difficulty with the trainee gear (I've mostly been soloing the chatpers, banana, with trainee gear on). All in all, its extremely simple.

1- Utilize at least 2x Frost ward to prevent yourself from being frozen by the small crabs.

2- Run through the enemies tossing Fire/Arcane/Steam/Whatever boulders on yourself. This is actually a VERY valid strat in pretty much every chapter in which you get swarmed by melee enemies. Its a bit trickier with the beastman because they like to jump around lots, but otherwise its pretty good, and can get you through solo Banana challenges decently. Use an absorption ward that correlates with whichever boulder you toss, should be fine.

3- The big crabs have to die. This is slightly tricky single player as their front is immune to everything but Lightning from what I've found, with their exposed tail being their weak point. I found Dragon's Breath spam to do a pretty decent job at killing the big crabs and thinning out the small ones. Stand in the lower-right corner, crabs don't spawn there, and just spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of it while dodging poison globes. An alternative is to utilize Lightning walls while kiting the big crabs.

4- My main go-to element for this, beyond bombing the ♥♥♥♥ out of me with fire/arcane/cold bombs, was Ice-Arcane spam. Made short work out of everything.
