Tips for solo`ing?
I can't seem to get a grip on solo play. How long might it take for me to master it?
Currently I'm not up to the task, normal that is
any advice would help

ps: I would prefer strategies over complaints :)

Beams and mines, kinda cheesy but for solo seems the best. Also full water armor plus spamming lightning when enemies are wet.

rock/ice armor and wards are your friends.

You can revive your pet
Earth armor, bro. Most enemies should be able to be killed by FFFFFF, too.

If you're in a really sticky spot, haste around while dropping dragonstrikes on people.

Is this game fun playing alone? Possible to beat? Played the first one, but when playing alone, it was really hard.

I just finished this game alone. My middle mouse button didn't work well so I couldn't self cast or area cast. (it was a pain when I had to use the lightning shield on myself for the two interruptors) It's totally beatable alone, but here are some tips :
-Always keep moving (the enemies are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast)
-Use Magicks. The Fire Dragon Magick is absolutely overpowered from the beginning of the game to the end.
-USE HASTE
-Always cast revive first thing when you revive so you have unlimited lifes..

The MOST IMPORTANT hint is this - you can cast Revive to bring back your familiar.

yes, and it needs to be patched if you ask me.

No, not really. Since in multiplayer wizards can revive each others without restriction, it is the same thing.
The only thing that needs to be patched is the revive location when playing solo. In fact the game invariably revives the player in the middle of the enemy swarm, every single time. Rendering revive useless as he is slaughtered instantly even before he has any control on his wizard.

What can help:

-> Find spells you're confortable. That'll surely run around one particular element (death (S) for me, seems like some are running lightning or fire or earth mainly). Boost this element with gear i.e.: ++ death damage staff for me.

-> If one particular moment is hard, identify threats and deal with them:
--> zerg-ed by crabs ? => Shift + middle mouse button SSSSS clears well around you
--> High physical damage => Middle mouse button DDDDE avoid a ton of physical damage
--> Pesky mages/archers => snipe with a beam
--> spells ruining you ? => 4*element + E + middle button makes it heal you instead (flame-throwers, ice-throwers for example)
--> If nothing much happens, always run (your main element )* 4 + E + middle button to be immune with what you hit, you can then use beams/mines (Element*4 + E + right-click) carelessly.

-> Earth walls (DDDDE+right-click OR DDDDE Shift + middle-button)/shields (E+right click/Shift+middle button) deflect beams/projectiles while you deal with melee ♥♥♥♥

Generally speaking, AoE and mines deal tons on damage on big melee mobs/boss, beams deal quite well with elusive distant mobs.
