[Mac] How to play?

I bought the game for my girlfriend to play together. I have windows and no problem but my girlfriend has a new iMac and the game doesn't start.

- Magicka 2 start, we see a black screen and the game crashes. We are back into desktop
- Magicka 2 spell balance beta says "Not connected to the steam network, press any key to exit"

I'm going to ask for a refund for both because I buy the game to play together, and is not working.

Any ideas until I ask for refund?

EDIT: I forgot to say that her Mac is fully updated. OS X El Capitan and no updates avaliable

Solved: Updating Java to the lastest version fixed the error

Thats strange, cause exactly no part of Magicka 2 uses Java.

Anyways, I have a bug report in a .txt file. If you want to see it, where can I send it to you?

EDIT: I take this opportunity to comment that when I play in Ubuntu OS, if anybody try to chat with me using steam chat the game crashes, in Big Picture is working properly. In other games doesn't happen. Sadly I don't have bug report for that because I had to reboot Ubuntu completly.

I have the same issue and installed java but it didnt solve it, there is still only a black screen and then it closes itself. No txt.file no bugsplat just crashing

Maybe was a coincidence but installing java solved the issue for us. I'm sorry if that doesn't solve your problem.
I still have the bugsplat in a .txt file but nobody asked for him or sent me a message to send the file.
Seems like they don't worry about that

After a few tries trying to run the game (about 4) I got a bugsplat and I copied the text into a .txt file
