1) The publisher has a webpage that describes World of Magika bundle including deluxe:
https://www.paradoxplaza.com/world-of-magicka-bundle
2) Yet I can't tell from looking at game in my library if it's deluxe
3) After bundle purchase, adding Magika 2 deluxe edition to my cart it says I already own it
4) Yet, after bundle purchase, adding deluxe for $10 to my cart it lets me get to final checkout step (which most of the time things won't let you if you own it)
So it's weird
If someone can tell me how to tell if I have deluxe edition of Magika 2 (unlike most steam games that clearly say what's the difference between deluxe and not, I can't find that info on this game's steam page), then I will check.
Includes:
Base Game
Warlord Robe Set
Magicka Orchestra Soundtrack
Digital Interactive Map
Cultist Robe Set
Also, the bundle seems to be bugged in other ways (ie. suggesting you need to buy DLCs which you already own), and the page for requesting refunds doesn't seem to work well with these kinds of bundle purchases. At the moment I recommend avoiding it until Paradox and Valve can figure out what's going on.
Well it's ether a glitch on Steam's end or Paradox didn't set the bundle up correctly. This wouldn't be the first time a bundle has stated two seprate lists of included items for a bundle. Look at 2K and how they did the Borderlands triple pack. The Steam version doesn't include all of the Borderlands 2 DLC yet the console version does. Also the bundle system in it self is bugged in a lot of ways.
For example I own Magicka and all but one DLC however if I try to buy the bundle it tries to force me to buy Magicka 1 again for no reason. Another case is when people tried to get the Saints Row bundle it wouldn't let people buy it because the bundle included the season pass and the DLCs that where included in the pass at the same time. In other words the bundle was bugged trying to make people buy the same DLCs twice. As to why these bugs happen is still unknown.
It does not force you to buy Magicka 1. It uses the new policy where it will disregard the pieces you have and bundle the ones you don't. I didn't have the last piece of Magicka 1 DLC or any Magicka 2 items, so it bundled those.
That said, I also wanted the deluxe Magicka 2 so I simply added the bundle items to my cart, minus Magicka 2, then added Magicka 2 Deluxe. The bundle saved me less than $1.50 with 5 items, so adding everything separately was still better than paying for the Deluxe Upgrade (for me, at least). I recommend people try that and than judge the sale on those terms.
The problem is that it isn't disregarding Magicka 1 base game. It still adds it to the list of what I get from the bundle when I add it to the cart. So yes it is trying to force me to rebuy the base game if I where to buy it using the bundle. This means that the new bundle system is flawed in it's detection. Just like it was flawed for people trying to buy the Saints Row Bundle, and it wouldn't let them buy it because the season pass and the same dlcs included in the pass where added to the cart at the same time causing an error on purchase. I know the work around by adding the items seprate fixes the problem, but the fact still remains that the way bundles work is still broken and needs to be fixed.
EDIT: I forgot to note that because the bundle keeps adding Magicak 1 base game instead of paying $11.40 for it I have to pay $13.12. If I where to buy the items seprate I have to pay $12.76. Ether way I slice it I have to pay more because the bundle detection is broken. Oh and one more thing I live in a state that Steam charges me a tax when I buy a game. So no thanks to my state being greedy I have to pay even more then what is already listed.
Maybe there’s an error with recognizing the subscription, I got subID 7238 (Magicka Retail CD-Key).
By the way, this indeed seems to happen more often with the new bundle system. A similar error happened to me not too long ago with the Resident Evil Bundle and Resident Evil 5, but luckily the devs would fix this problem in time after some people complained in the forum. So I also just made a thread regarding this error in the Magicka 1 forum, maybe someone responsible stumbles over this, too, and fixes it, or at aleast in the future.
Glad to see a third person has seen this issue. I made a thread in the Help & Tips steam forums. The moderator game me a hard time by not understanding the issue at first but now it looks like they are trying to pass the word on to someone. I also sent Steam a ticket about it, but I feel that won't get me anywhere in time for the sale. Anyways thanks for letting me know I'm not the only person seeing this issue.
Checked with our sales team and all the Magicka 2 Delux Edition items are included in the bundle!
I'm sure the sales team intended for it to be included, but it's not. It may depend on what items in the bundle someone owns already, but in my case for sure - already owning the base game - the deluxe items were not included.
