Cant pass main menu on mac (Spacebar not working)

My friend who is on Mac tried to play Magicka 2 but once he sees "Press space to start" thing he tries to click it but then absolutely nothing happens, we have tried everything to fix it but it is still not working. If anyone has a fix for this please tell us.

Then this is a mac only problem I guess, I don't understand it, if you ever have a fix just let me know

I'm on a iMac 5K Late 2015 with High Sierra (10.13.1) and I'm having the same problem in March 2018. Surely this has been resolved by now? I can't play the game at all, it just sits there at the "Press space to start" screen playing music.

I was able to get this working by switching my physical keyboard to an Apple bluetooth keyboard. When I used a non-Apple bluetooth keyboard, it didn't work. Odd.

I'm having the same issue. Switching keyboards didn't work. If you have a suggestion, please let me know.

My friend never found a fix, he got a new computer and was able to play it afterwards

Finally figured out that it was because of a "secure input" feature of some antivirus that was installed on that computer. Disabled that and the game worked fine.

This worked, thank you so much! I have Webroot SecureAnywhere, selected "Pause Secure Keyboard Entry", and game works!
