PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY

PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY

Start with 1 or 2?
I remember the release of both the first Patapon games, but I remember reading that 2 is just a better version of 1 with more content.

With this re release/remaster, should I bother playing the first, or jump right into 2 again?

I would say go for 1 first, it may have less content, but you should be able to port your save data over to 2, 1 is absolutely a harder game with its lack of QOL features that 2 has but it feels like a more cohesive story when played in order (not that there really is a super in depth story)

We also have to take into account that some QoL feature will be added to Patapon 1 from what we saw in the Trailer such as a Timing adjustment and Difficulty Setting, so Patapon 1 might have been harder when it released this remake will most likely be easier

Play 1 to experience the whole story. Or don't.

Patapon 2 is *LITERALLY* better than Patapon 2 in *EVERY* way. If you don't care about story and only care about game play, then go with the 2nd. HOWEVER, the first is great in it's own right and you will miss the story if you skip the first. This game is not very heavy on lore. But it's still endearing and worth experiencing in my opinion. If you have extra time on your hands and you enjoy rhythm games, I say go with the 1st then the 2nd. However, If you're only wanting the best game play, go with the 2nd. Just know some bits of the story wont make sense and there will be callbacks to the first game that you will miss.

I would say do P1 first. If you try to burn through the story then it's really not that long. If you focus on building up Mogyoon Yumipons and Megapons then you should breeze through most of the story.

P2 is the better game, but you'll appreciate it more after getting through P1, and the recurring characters will make more sense too. You could just watch a playthrough of P1 or something to get the story before going into P2... But the way I see it is - these are very very niche games, there's not really anything else like Patapon, so what if you start with P2 and complete it, but then want more?? You might find yourself wanting to play P1 for your first time, and that will be considerably less fun after having played P2.
