PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY

PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY

Input Lag and Bad Audio Quality
Happy to see Patapon land on Steam, but I'm honestly a bit afraid. Is this just a port of the PS4/PS5 remasters? Because if it is, expect loads of input lag and very bad audio quality.

I would assume its new version because it was shown its develop by bandai namco. And ps4/5 remasters were made by Japan Studio and Pyramid.
Theres an option in settings to change input timing.

Then that's promising. I have a feeling they don't have the original audio files anymore and had to make do with what they had or what they could extract from the PSP versions, especially as the sound quality doesn't sound much better than the remaster. But if at least the input lag is gone, that's very good.

This remaster is being developed by the same team that co-developed the Theatrhythm series, so I'm confident that it'll be pretty good.

That's good to hear! Maybe that we can have some hope for Theatrhythm Final Bar Line to reach PC sometime? Really would like to see that happen.
To be frank, I'm looking at the screenshots and compared to Sony's sloppy remaster this one's lookin' promising.

The "remasters" were literally just the PSP games thrown into a PSP emulator that scaled up to 4k resolution. Digital Foundry did a video on this showcasing that any PSP game could be put into it and work on the PS4. That's probably why those versions had input lag and crap looking video cutscenes.

Actually, the original audio files are literally publically published on the Internet, they literally CAN'T have lost them because they're still there for everyone

That's frustrating. No clue why there's so much inconsistency in this case, considering they have done exactly this with LocoRoco Midnight Carnival (but passed on upscaling it) and the LocoRoco 1/2 remasters play like fully fledged new versions that both look and sound insanely better than the PSP versions.

Great to know. Fingers crossed!

it does not have any problems... I finished all remasters on ps5 ... u had to play with headphones, because your TV/projectors have lags ... that is why sound was little behind. with headphones it worked as intended and they make information available u HAVE TO play it with headphones due your lagging pherpiheprals

Unfortunately I've experienced it even while playing on a 0.5ms gaming monitor and using a wired headphone. So it does have issues. Either way, good to know you've still made through it.

It's not a port from the PS4 version, it's a decompiled version, you almost can call it "Native" version. Redrawing the textures and running at 60 FPS (and maybe more in this PC version)

I played (and beat) all 3 from the PSP. I had literally no problems keeping rhythm and fever in all stages. These are some of my favorite all time games.

The PS4 release though, was a total ship show. Couldn't keep fever literally no matter what I did. And yes, I know it's because of lag on devices, but the most tar dead thing I've ever seen is NOT having input lag options on a rhythm game.

It's literal insanity they didn't add this option. I was so heartbroken not being able to play a game I truly loved due to sheer technical laziness by the people releasing that version.

And no, using headphones and lots of other options didn't help solve the problem. I plugged my PS4 directly into my gaming monitor and still had some weird lag ONLY WITH THIS GAME. I play Rock Band the same way - zero problems. Can expert FC songs on drums with no issues (which requires exponentially faster and closer timings), but Patapon... it's just broken.

I hope this version won't be the same, but not going to preorder. I learned my lesson already.

Wait, where on the internet are those original files?
