Input lag?
This version also has input lag! I would estimate it to around 50-100ms input lag when playing with a keyboard. For me that is an experienced pinball player, this really destroys the experience as accuracy is severely affected by this.

Except for that severe problem, there are still plenty of other bugs. I've been running it for around 10 minutes, and so far the application has crased due to being out of memory and remapping of keys seems to work pretty bad with non-english keyboard layouts.

On the bright side, ball emulation seems fairly accurate if you disregard the input lag, and the tables are nicely done.

So, in short, download and play the free table first for some time before you make any purchase decisions. And if you're unhappy, consider the free alternative Visual Pinball with the community made re-makes. At least that software doesn't suffer from input lag.. :)

No input lag for me here. It may vary depending on your specs. I wouldn't advise recommending VP though, as it's not entirely legal.

If you are using a Nvidia card

Add the pinball arcade.exe to the Nvidia control panel and set "maximum pre-rendered frames" to 1.

See if that helps you with the input lag.

Yes, that helped! Thank you! However, as I understand it, this setting can be controlled by the application, so I still regard this as a bug. :) But at least I have a (permanent?) work-around..

I think the game is using 3 by default which is too slow for this game.

It's the graphics card drivers that set your pre rendered frames to 3. If you do a graphics card diver update it will be reset back to 3 again. Always set it to 1 and the game will only render one frame then show it on screen.

In a Iconia W700 i5 with Windows 8.1 game is unplayable because of unpredecible lag. I have been reading of Windows 8.1 lag in some games. I don't know if the problem is Windows or the game.

Windows 8.1 no lag here after I changed the pre rendered frams to 1 in Nvidia control panel

On basic settings, without tweaking, the input lag is pretty horrible. Like the post above, you need to set your "pre render frames" to 1 and turn off Vsync. After that most lag is completely gone.

Doing this nvidia setting to 1 what about the V-SYNC ?
Best setting on/off

Pinball FX2 I have to Turn Off.

I am using a Samsung Smart TV 3D 32"

I had to set Vsync off to reduce lag to minimum.

Just did this so far seems to work well.
Thanks.

Yes, vsync off in conjunction with max prerendered frames seems to eliminate input lag. However, you get screen tearing as a consequence. Setting vsync to adaptive seems to fix the screen tearing problem, without creating too much input lag. It's a compromise, apparently.
