Q: If I buy the standard table/pack, will I get a discount on the pro version, if I decide to buy it later?
A: No, you will have to pay the full price of the pro table/table pack.
What...?
No, you will have to pay the full price of the Pro table/table pack.
Wow, really? That's a tad disappointing but good to know.
1. Standard Table (if single) or Table Pack.
2. Table Pro Menu: this is an upgrade from a standard table to a pro table. It can be purchased by clicking the coin slot on the table selection screen or by trying to access the pro menu via the table menu.
3. Pro Table or Pro Table Pack: this is the table and its pro menu at a discounted price.
I'm a bit confused here, sorry.
About the 2nd point: the upgrade is still the same price as if I would re-buy the table(s) including the pro features, right ?
1st one (standard purchase) is usually $4.99 USD,
2nd one (pro upgrade) is usually $3.99 USD, and
3rd one (pro pack) is usually $7.99 USD.
So the corrected FAQ should read:
If I buy the standard table/pack, will I get a discount on the Pro version when I decide to upgrade it later?
An upgrade for single tables will cost as follows:
• Attack from Mars Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Cactus Canyon Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Class of 1812 Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Cue Ball Wizard Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Dr. Dude Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Medieval Madness Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Pin•Bot Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Scared Stiff Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Star Trek : The Next Generation Pro Upgrade : $4.99
• Tales of the Arabian Nights Pro Upgrade : $1.99
• Tee'd Off Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Pro Upgrade : $4.99
• Twilight Zone Pro Upgrade : $4.99
• White Water Pro Upgrade : $3.99
• Table Add-On Pack #15 Pro Upgrade (includes both The Champion Pub and Whirlwind Pro Upgrades) : $3.99
• Table Add-On Pack #16 Pro Upgrade (includes both Flight 2000 and Goin' Nuts Pro Upgrades) : $3.99
Buying an upgrade will in most cases cost you 1$ more than if you had bought it as a Pro version right from the start. This is only comparing the cost of table packs, not complete seasons.
If you bought a season 1 pack and want to upgrade all tables, it will cost you $21.95
-> this is cheaper than buying the season 1 pro pack as an "upgrade" ($39.99)
If you bought a season 2 pack and want to upgrade all tables, it will cost you $40.90
-> this is slightly more expensive than buying the season 2 pro pack as an "upgrade", which would cost you $39.99
@S2: Did I state this correct now? Not sure if the prices are correct, they were taken off the pinballarcadefans.com page. I can't check it as I am in the Euro-Zone, where all pro updates are €3.99
I would be happy to add this information if a developer would validate them.
Obviously, there still is a lot of confusion on that topic (and more than I expected).
I didn't know that there is a Pro version of this table at all. I checked it right away and I can access the Pro menu, though I never bought the Pro upgrade to this (always free) table.
Does this mean that this table is always free in the Pro version ?
Can you confirm the other prices? Or do you have the pro versions already and can't see the prices any more?
Someone shouldn't have to go through an FAQ like this to buy a game
http://www.pinballarcade.com/TablePacks
Still, it is a very confusing at the moment. The fact that the ingame store and Steam store offer partially different content increases the confusion, then add the option for standard and pro tables and you have pretty much the mess we have now.
That's why I wanted to create that FAQ here and I still hope we can get something going here, maybe even an official pinned post by the developer that would replace this one here.
Either way, I think it's pretty clear that we need the FAQ or a different model for purchases.
Any input from Farsight is welcome !
