Options for Balls per Game
Most of the older tables I played as a teen in the early 80's were 5 balls per play. In TPA they are nearly all 3 balls per play. 3 balls per play became more common here in the Midwest during the mid 80's. Maybe on the coasts the tables in that era had already migrated from 5 to 3 per but I would prefer to play them as I did years ago.
Does anyone know if there are plans to allow the players to choose between 5 or 3 basll per play? I expect thsi would create problems with the leaderboards and tournaments but I'm more interested in maintaining the historical aspect with the tables I've purchased.

That's the factory setting, the only way to change it is by buying Pro Mode and going into the operator's menu. If you do that, your scores won't count for the leaderboards, btw.

IIRC, Big Shot and Genie have standard options for number of balls per game. Otherwise you'll have to go the Pro Mode route as Kaibun suggests.

Pretty sure extra ball predates 3-ball tables.

I duno, the attendant claimed that the motivation for the switch was extra balls. Not that it was meant as a replacement.
