Application error on Windows 10 laptop
So I wanted to put this game on my laptop so I can play it while on vacation. Whenever I try to boot the DX11 version I get an error message and I quote "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b), Click OK to close the application". Before you ask...

YES, I have installed Visual C++ 2012 on it.

YES, I have DirectX 11

YES, My laptop goes above the minimum requirements

YES, I have tried to run it in admin

What do I do?

go here and run dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe
\\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PinballArcade\_CommonRedist\DotNet\4.0 Client Profile

maybe that will fix it...worth a shot

you may want to reinstall the rest of the stuff in

\\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PinballArcade\_CommonRedist

reboot your computer after each reinstall

That didn't work. Even went the extra mile by trying the DX9 version and it still didn't work.

Try to make sure you installed the 64bit versions of everything, as programs getting confused by 32bit dll's etc seems to be a common problem for people with this error.
I installed Visual C++ 64 bit 2012 and it still didn't work.

What are the specs of your laptop? Does it meet the requirements? Also if you know who old is this laptop? Like 5 years old or older perhaps?
According to one of the stickers, the CPU is at least .2 GHZ above the minimum and can be boosted. It has Intel HD 4000 which I know isn't much but I was thinking that it could at least run this budget pinball sim.

if you open a Run dialog - Windows Key + R
and type in msinfo32
it will give you a detailed look at what your specs are.

try using the Intel Beta Drivers

also you could bring up the Run dialog box again

sfc /scannow

this will find and fix any corrupt windows files you may have.
