Try it out on the most simple oldest table you have in windowed mode, open up taskmanager an check how much cpu it uses.
another thing that can slow the game down is v-sync.
If the gpu can't quite deliver 60fps, then v-sync will force the game to wait for the next refresh on the screen, resulting in 30fps (or around 45fps, if its on the edge.) 45 or 30 fps is typical for v-sync issues.
( v-sync waits for the screen to finish drawing the frame its working on, before sending a new frame for the screen to draw, this is to reduce "tearing")
V-sync should be turned off for pinball games . it causes delay on the inputs, and since the screen isnt moving around, but stays in the same place, tearing isnt really an issue. So turn off v-sync, even if you have no problems with the fps. ;)
*after looking up the spelling, turns out there are 2 different words. "discrete" means seperate.*
