Well thats disheartening. I got my key, but I don't have a cabinet to try it out in.
Has anyone seen anything like that?
I emailed Arcooda on May 15th
"It says you give support for 76 tables. What does that mean for future tables? Will they be included? Will there be an additional fee?"
"Dear Dave,
Thank you for your email, unfortunately we have lost the WMS license and future licenses are now unclear. Sorry but we do not control what happens with licenses holders and currently can only promise the 76 titles.
If we can help you with any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,
Valentina Josifovski"
It's looking like this is pretty much it. I hope farsight at least fixes the issues ordwaychris mentioned.
Also really worth getting as I only have Season 1 + the addams family (Which I sponsored by kickstarter)? As would really like these tables on cabinet.
But these are REALLY the only tables that interest me.
I can’t speak for DjMcFilthy but from the brief time I spent with Cabinet Mode there is a stretch distortion effect at the end of the playfield that compensates for that part of the table being far away.
This is to provide the 3D optical illusion effect that some street painters use to make things look 3D from the right angle.
Some people were saying this was a bug. I don’t believe that for one second. Those people were probably playing the cabinet mode in portrait mode as a computer display instead of at an angle like a pinball cabinet.
3 out of the 4 Cabinet Mode camera angles allow you to find the sweet spot to get the full effect.
I have no experience with NOEX and little with Visual Pinball but my guess from the screenshots I’ve seen is that they don’t do this kind of visual correction and therefore the tables probably look flat and 2D in a cabinet.
The question is: is that effect worth 150 to you... especially if you’re only interested in a few tables.
I don’t know if VPX, NOEX will ever add this effect or if it’s easy to add (I think it’s just a postfilter that adds gradual stretch effect) but, to me, this effect is important. Without that effect, everything looks 2D. With the stretch effect, the ball keeps the correct aspect ratio no matter if it’s close to you or far from you.
Example street art that use this stretch distortion effect to create a sense of depth:

You can’t. :(
Cabinet Mode is limited to 4 cabinet mode camera angles and none of the regular TPA cameras.
I have no idea. I use a 55" Samsung UHD TV as a PC monitor thats broken up by display fusion like this.

Cabinet mode looks like this to me since it doesnt have a windowed option.

I have a fairly large basement arcade, and have been toying with the idea of adding a virtual pinball table for ages. I'm just confliced about how to go about it. I blindly bought the software just to have the option, but I fully agree that it looks like something that should have been included by default.

Well that puts a wet blanket on using cabinet mode..... I can't justify $200, which is what it is in australian dollars for something that only supports 4 flat camera views. I want it for the backglass support...
Edit: Well the link to the image is not supported I see.... brilliant :{
Edit 2: new JPG of Pincab updated
Now have 3 screen pinball cabinet which will run my emulated setup from my PC, but hard to see if Arcooda Pinball Arcade cabinet support for 22 tables worth it.
Seems a trial version of this software would help many fans.

are there visual improvements on the tables? i'd be interested to know if earlier tables like TZ, MB have been improved
Awesome! Just out of curiousity did you build your cabinet? Buy it? Or retrofit an actual pinball? I'm not really a pinball guy, so i'm rather torn on how I want to do this. However, I'm kinda leaning towards the Rec Room Masters cabinet for simplicity.
Leaving me with a choice of sotfware heavy supported vpforums (Videos on EVERY step), Arcooda Pinball Arcade cabinet or both (Using front end support).
