Arcooda Pinball Arcade unlock key
Has anyone received their unlock key.

I want to see the visual enhancements Arcooda was talking about. They claimed that lighting, shaders, textures had been improved.

The Pinball Arcade tables are pretty good as is but some table graphics are muddy at 2.5k and 4k resolutions. I hope Arcooda’s version makes the graphics crisp with 4k graphics.

Anyone care to do side by side table comparisons?

for anyone looking to buy the cabinet upgrade here is my 2 cents. First i will say i was using NOEX camera mod before upgrading and yes the cabinet support is much better. Here is the good and the bad.

Three screen setup:
you can tell this was made for 3 screen setup. when running in this mode all tables run smooth am i have yet to find any backglass issues. My only complaint here is only on camera view seems to really work for cabinet view. I wish they would of put some more depth full screen views here.

Two screen setup:
If you have a 2 screen setup as of right now there are some issues. I have sent in all that i have found but with this whole timeline thing i wonder if or how many of these issues will be fixed.

First off i seem to get a lag issue in 2 screen view on almost all tables. not sure why this happens since it does not happen in 3 screen view

Second there are 15 tables that i have issues with in 2 screen mode either a dmd issue or backglass issue. Again none of this is a issue in 3 screen mode. here is the list of tables
1. Als garage -no dmd just backglass
2. bone busters -backglass is way off to the left and since you cannot adjust each table its a one size fits all this cannot be moved without throwing off other tables
3. bride of pinbot -No score shows up
4. CFTBL -No dmd shows up
5.Dr who - dmd is off the bottom of the screen
6.F-14- no backglass shows up
7. big hurt- backglass/dmd runs low off the bottom of screen
8. funhouse- scoreboard just shows zeros and dont work
9. The getaway- no backglass
10. Gladiators - No dmd
11.Gorgar- No score
12 Scared Stiff - no dmd and backglass is sized wrong
13. tx sector - no dmd
14.TOTAN- no dmd
15. theater of magic- dmd not working

so final words i would say 3 screen setup would be a 9.5 out of 10 only lacking with low res backglass, and right now no pinballx frontend support. 2 screen setup is a 5 out of 10. the 15 tables back glass not working right makes me not want to play them at all. Along with the lag issue makes the tables almost unplayable on my cab. To put this in prospective i would rate Noex camera mod a 6.5. This is nothing against the mod it was great when there was no alternative. This is still good for the missing tables that will not work with the cabinet support.

Well thats disheartening. I got my key, but I don't have a cabinet to try it out in.

What would be a big plus is some Kind of guarentee from farsight that cab mode will continue to be supported. More tables will get added and that if arcooda go bust that they'll take it back in house or hire another 3rd party.
Has anyone seen anything like that?

I emailed Arcooda on May 15th

"It says you give support for 76 tables. What does that mean for future tables? Will they be included? Will there be an additional fee?"

"Dear Dave,

Thank you for your email, unfortunately we have lost the WMS license and future licenses are now unclear. Sorry but we do not control what happens with licenses holders and currently can only promise the 76 titles.

If we can help you with any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards,
Valentina Josifovski"

It's looking like this is pretty much it. I hope farsight at least fixes the issues ordwaychris mentioned.

DjMcFilthy you are saying that new Arcooda Pinball Arcade cabinet support is better then NOEX camera mod. In what way and what are we getting for our money? Seem publisher is VERY unclear what you are geting for your money with key. Feels like paying AGAIN for something we should already have.

Also really worth getting as I only have Season 1 + the addams family (Which I sponsored by kickstarter)? As would really like these tables on cabinet.
But these are REALLY the only tables that interest me.

I can’t speak for DjMcFilthy but from the brief time I spent with Cabinet Mode there is a stretch distortion effect at the end of the playfield that compensates for that part of the table being far away.

This is to provide the 3D optical illusion effect that some street painters use to make things look 3D from the right angle.

Some people were saying this was a bug. I don’t believe that for one second. Those people were probably playing the cabinet mode in portrait mode as a computer display instead of at an angle like a pinball cabinet.

3 out of the 4 Cabinet Mode camera angles allow you to find the sweet spot to get the full effect.

I have no experience with NOEX and little with Visual Pinball but my guess from the screenshots I’ve seen is that they don’t do this kind of visual correction and therefore the tables probably look flat and 2D in a cabinet.

The question is: is that effect worth 150 to you... especially if you’re only interested in a few tables.

I don’t know if VPX, NOEX will ever add this effect or if it’s easy to add (I think it’s just a postfilter that adds gradual stretch effect) but, to me, this effect is important. Without that effect, everything looks 2D. With the stretch effect, the ball keeps the correct aspect ratio no matter if it’s close to you or far from you.

Example street art that use this stretch distortion effect to create a sense of depth:

Can anyone who has tried this cabinet mode tell me if you are limited to only the cab view cameras or can I still use the normall TPA cameras along with the second screen backglass support. I ask this because I want backglass second screen support, but due to the nature of my Pincab (Its a stand up arcade cabinet style) I want to keep using the regular camera views of the table....

You can’t. :(

Cabinet Mode is limited to 4 cabinet mode camera angles and none of the regular TPA cameras.

I have no idea. I use a 55" Samsung UHD TV as a PC monitor thats broken up by display fusion like this.

Cabinet mode looks like this to me since it doesnt have a windowed option.

I have a fairly large basement arcade, and have been toying with the idea of adding a virtual pinball table for ages. I'm just confliced about how to go about it. I blindly bought the software just to have the option, but I fully agree that it looks like something that should have been included by default.

This is what I built (its running MAME in the photo but you get the idea....)

https://sabercathost.com/hOfN/pincab.jpg

Well that puts a wet blanket on using cabinet mode..... I can't justify $200, which is what it is in australian dollars for something that only supports 4 flat camera views. I want it for the backglass support...

Edit: Well the link to the image is not supported I see.... brilliant :{

Edit 2: new JPG of Pincab updated

DjMcFilthy seems we have something in common, as started building up arcade room over the past year. Already have multi arcade cabinet and pinball was the next step.
Now have 3 screen pinball cabinet which will run my emulated setup from my PC, but hard to see if Arcooda Pinball Arcade cabinet support for 22 tables worth it.
Seems a trial version of this software would help many fans.

Awesome! Just out of curiousity did you build your cabinet? Buy it? Or retrofit an actual pinball? I'm not really a pinball guy, so i'm rather torn on how I want to do this. However, I'm kinda leaning towards the Rec Room Masters cabinet for simplicity.

Like the arcade cabinet, pinball cabinet pre-build and installed with basic software. But it's PC in a box with 42" Main playfield, 16" DMD and 26" Backglass, so like arcade cabinet (Run by retropie) I plan to reinstall software and update. Which includes adding KL25Z + potentiometer (For nudge and analog plunger).
Leaving me with a choice of sotfware heavy supported vpforums (Videos on EVERY step), Arcooda Pinball Arcade cabinet or both (Using front end support).
