Maybe others here can help you troubleshoot.
You can send a bug report to Farsight support too of course but don’t expect too much from it.
I’m talking from personal experience here unfortunately :(
Your best chance to reach the devs, especially Mike (he’s the man in charge when it comes to fixing bugs in the Steam version), is to copy and paste your post to their official forum.
The devs don’t visit here often:

btw
If you play Stern Pinball Arcade too or you own Stern tables in TPA, you could try this:
-Uninstall The Pinball Arcade and remove all its game save files.
-Restart pc
-Install Stern Pinball Arcade.
-On the main menu page there’s a ‘log in’ button.
-Login with the same e-mail & password you use for TPA.
-If all went well, you should now be able to play all the Stern tables you own in TPA.
-Close Stern Pinball Arcade but don’t log out!
-Now install The Pinball Arcade again and hope that the game finds SPA on your pc and unlocks your TPA ‘content’.
Probably a totally useless tip but you could give it a shot.
Good luck!
Another workaround that some have found that works that cannot be explained, is to run DX9, exit steam reboot your PC and then see if you can get the DX11 version to start.
I do suggest writing to support even though I second that they are useless, but they need to hear that people are pissed at their inept QA and inability to put out ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ releases.
Try leaving your AV enabled and making an exception for the exe.
I did that first, but it doesn't work. My AV doesn't seem to care. I'll deal with that later.
I already know that stuff. Maybe they should take it back, but I do have a degree in IT/Network Administrations. I should have known better really.
In a moment of being dumb, and thinking too much about other stuff, I forgot to think of my AV. Silly me. Sometimes it is good to have other people tell you when you're doing something stupid. It happens.
But that being said, it is good to note for anyone who may read this later that maybe doesn't know better, it is better to make an exception then to turn AV off. If you turn it off, turn it back on etc. etc.
