"When not using a shield, Paladins will have no armor bonuses"
Does this hold true for other classes as well? ie. Druid not using a shield in offhand instead opting for a stat stick of some kind. (it should IMO)

It doesn't, but just because Paladins have a unique-to-the-class bonus for having a shield equipped. In a future update the class description will be changed to reflect that, as well as some indicator in the inventory to show "shield bonus active".

Also I find books to be a pointless way of learning skills, they're not hard to get or find (vendor in a city for only a few gold) so just have classes learn these on level up and do away with the tedium, EQ already solved this whole thing with how their skills work... you start out at 0 in something and the more time you successfully pull off that skill (whether it be crafting, sense heading, foraging, blocking, dodging, 1h swords, etc.) it will level up passively over time, super ultra high level stuff should be farmed or earned via quests, so like Block IV should be a technique "earned".
Do Dodge and Block skills stack using different tiers? Or just the higher tier will count?

go to the path on the right of the paladins' temple, there are two NPCs in a tent. It's the "Skill Book Merchant" new NPC.

I'm hand placing the triggers for it, there's a few in game now. Need to add more.

can confirm one worked at least :D might be worth adding some sort of sound effect when you would trigger it if you already have it, that way we can still suggest places?

Ok, so been aggressively battling to test the new update, as a level 31 arcanist I feel alot squishier.
Now on the one hand I'm playing a squishy class so should be fragile and this does very much bring back the EQ fear of everything, on the other this is a one player game so Im doing all the tricky pulls and walking first into rooms etc so feels a little unforgiving especially if your navigating garden to get the souls but I could live with it (maybe that's the point?.
Party wise at 31 in Jaws feels much weaker as well, first boss is once again a struggle and I feel a long way off beating guy number two, this isnt so much a problem game wise as i just happen to be in this big difficulty gap so to me it feels like a huge step back but for a fresh player they'd just be spending more time in garden before heading here. Agro drifting to druid or duelist at the start of the fight is far more punishing, so perhaps a way to get your paladin to generate more agro before your team goes full throttle might help? (ie simplay behaviour wise)
Lastly paladin does seem a little weaker, I know he's supposed to be more resilient but seems to go down faster, I dont think its a huge change seem so may well be me projecting my little wizard insecurities :P

Side note, some of the skill books list the classes that can use them at the bottom of the description card incorrectly.

I do think this is a step in the right direction though,

I believe high-end group bosses should have a chance to drop Sivakrux and Planar Stone.

The drop rate for Sivakrux was about one every 8 hours, so it would take around 80 hours to get one. Since you need three Sivakrux to be reasonably sure of upgrading an item due to the percentage chance, you’d have to fight mobs non-stop for approximately 240 hours. For Planar Stone, it could take around 800 hours. At that point, you might as well remove these drops from mobs entirely.

I’m not sure what you have planned for raids, but keep in mind that in MMOs, players endure heavy grinding because they take pride in owning rare gear and showing it off to others. In a single-player game, however, that approach would likely feel unrewarding and could fail, at least for me.

I do think this is a step in the right direction though,

Your Arcanist will be a bit squishier, high end Arcanists and Druids were blocking and fully mitigating up to 60-70% of all hits which was waaaay too high.

Most encounters are designed for your simplayer paladin to safely pull it for you so try to lean on that mechanic (and report anything that doesn't work!)

Have you been to Prielian Cascade? That should fill some gap between Azynthi and Jaws. Jaws is meant to be a 34-35 zone by the numbers.

The more common map drop rate should fill in the sivakrux gap - maps can drop 3-4 sivakruxes at a time.

The issue with high end bosses is that they're SO farmable, it will really cheapen sivakruxes. I could thematically see giving it to sablehart and maybe demented, and Astra because she's tough, but that's about it

I don't plan a crazy heavy grind to be a requirement ever - I'm on that same page with you.

I just think what about Planar Stone Shards?
Also is removing the blessed of an item is going to give a Sivakrux in place of a Planar Stone Shard?

Might want to add a trigger at the top of that out of bounds mountain North of Ripper's... Spent like 15 mins getting up to Y level of 1230 but didn't get the achievement - not sure what's higher than this?
