please dial down the speed of walking..
.. its a bit disorienting because your character doesn't exist in the world.. but animates a walk.. while ZOOMING around at 100 mph.. its a bit jarring, an far to fast to enjoy whats going on.. especially in reverse.. I think its some unity junk that makes it when you slide left / right you move faster.. so in reverse with the slow animation is even worse..

edit: Noticed this even more when your in a dungeon.. an you want to slowly creep before pulling everything =) Maybe half speed, an leave in a ' sprint ' option if people want to run around like they have the zoomies..

A) There's a Druid ability that increases walking speed, probably items as well. So that's contributing.

B) Yeah, agreed, it's all hyper-speed. I can barely target enemies in combat before they're nuked to oblivion even with only 4 in group, and enemies run the same speed; they go from aggro to in your face in 0.34 seconds. It's an action game, at this point.

Also I only catch maybe 10% of damage numbers, they only last 0.25 seconds at most. No idea what I'm hitting for, which are abilities, whether it's me or the enemy's damage, maybe party members, etc. Zero correlation to what's happening.

While I love the game in it's current state, I have to agree with the folks above, some sort of option for game speed would be nice. Things do seem to die pretty quick, and moving around in general seems fast as well. I appreciate getting right to what I want to be doing quickly because slow travel times are for subscriptions, but it comes off as feeling floaty or disconnected somehow with the current speed.

I literally came here after playing the game for a couple of hours looking for this exact thread. The entire game feels like it's running at 150% speed for some reason. Movement is too fast, combat is way too fast, everything is just a little too fast in general.

Noted, will make some adjustments throughout the week and see what you guys think.
Yeah this would be wonderful, even if it was just some way for us to set the speed. Like a slider, that way people who want to rush around could, an those who want the more ' measured ' pace of the classic feel can have that. Other then that, so far its been a really interesting an fun game.. I started with UO.. an Asherons Call.. so this does have alot of that old ' school ' feel.. which is wonderful..

ugh please don't make it so slow, I like the pace as it is, why not just add a toggle that allows walking, that way both player types can be happy.

I am not sure how the engine works.. but if you could add a slider to speed it up to max (current) an slow down.. that would be ideal.. either way the current method is like being cracked out on speed.. especially with the wonkness of it, where it always speeds up while sliding left/right

there's literally 4 people asking for an adjustment and the dev is making it, so hopefully they make it so that all of us are happy, because if they just slow down everyone I'm sure there will be more than 4 people asking for it to be reverted back. :doublenickels:

It does feel a bit off. I don't feel like my character is walking but rather hovering or on rollerskates or something. The walk speed doesn't match what is happening on the ground and it is insanely fast.

I think it is a good idea to slow things down just a tad as well.

No one is saying ' slow it down.. ' even I said ' add an option to do this '.. just a FYI ... this is the point of EA.. its a delicate balancing act.. maybe it will be TOO slow next.. .. so what.. it can always be fixed again :moxes:
