You have two options. Blindly explore and kill stuff until you collect some items which allow you to create something to progress the quest to the point you can leave. Hail npcs, they say stuff, some give you quests. I know, not having your hand held every step of the way is crazy work.
or (Spoilers, obv)
You go into the dungeon, it's fairly linear and loops around. You kill a couple bosses, get a couple pieces of a key. Then kill the big boss outside through the arch to get the mold. Collect the rest of the items shown on the recipe, make the key, go back into the dungeon to find the locked door you would've come across, and kill the spectre inside. Then read the note he drops, and hand it to the guy on the left at the giant smoke signal ritual site that multiple npcs would've mentioned. They tell you to jump off the statue and swim to the sandbar, which you can see. Talk to the guy there, and then walk to the boats.
Now you're off the island, just as aimless as you were, and haven't learned anything.
Well I’m not expecting to have my hand held im from the days of Daggerfall.
I just don’t know what commands to press to get a dialog from the npcs 🤷🏻♂️
Ps. Try not to be so patronizing and condescending it’s really offputting.
Left click and press H to hail them. Be very sure to read tutorial popups, there's lots of little things like this you'll need.
tbf they do explain *all* of this in the tutorial pop-ups. idk how you even got past the first gate without knowing how to hail npcs lol
Well… I didn’t get any pop ups 🤷🏻♂️ that’s my point in asking where to see the information if I’m not seeing anything to read than it’s kind of hard to gain the info. Kind of ironic people are being toxic in fake mmo… when asking questions. It’s almost like these types of players are just toxic even in a fake mmo
And I didn’t get past anything because I didn’t see any written dialog. Im used to eso and lotro where you click on a npc and a window pops up this game did not do that. I didn’t play rune scape or the older MMOs which I assume this is more based on so I didn’t know you needed to press h or any of that stuff.
Kindness goes a long way you should learn it some time.
Thank you i appreciate the comment that was all I needed.
You say you're from the days of Daggerfall, but say you're used to more new school mmos, so which is it? Use your critical thinking skills, follow the on screen prompt that literally tells you to hail the first npc you come across. The initial first quest to even get out of the docks should have you understand that you're not playing on rails. You feel patronized because that's how it was intended to come off, I'm not looking to make a friend, so I don't care if you're put off. You were given the tools needed to succeed before you even came here.
You know what I did when I started the game? blasted right passed everything, I glanced at the tutorials because the UI is incredibly basic and kind of clunky. Then realized I missed something when the guy in the castle wouldn't talk to me, so I ran back to the start and paid closer attention. Brain off will get you every time.
