Do Not Listen to Rpg Codex
While they recently put up an article on this game, I would recommend against listening to their current year commentary in the comments thereof.

I played text DIKU Muds in the 90s and this game is something I've wanted for quite some time. In fact, you can often see requests for something like this in various threads on forums over the years for Everquest, WoW and several other MMOs over the years since their inception.

I think you can do quite a lot with a single player MMO that earlier text MUDs, as well as MMOs, accomplished that, scaled appropriately, could provide an absolutely awesome game experience. A game experience that would also last quite a long time and have a lot of replayability if there's enough race/class combinations available. Throw in expansions and you have a solid and stable pipeline for some serious solo dungeon crawling.

I fully support the idea of this game 100%.

Edit: I also wanted to add that there seems to be a sort of indirect rivalry brewing in this Old School MMO space. With Pantheon finally in their Alpha'ish (season) stage, Monsters and Memories coming hot on their heels and then Erenshor as a nice almost Grim Dawn'esque addition to the classic MMO renaissance going on at present.

Someone is going to get that Classic MMO Palworld money, who will it be?!

It seemed to be a pretty mixed bag of opinions over there. I did follow that thread and did chat along with some of the users. They definitely don't hold back when they don't think something's a good idea, do they? :)

Thank you for stopping in here though to give your support. Stuff like that is really motivating.
Yes, they don't hold back. However, they are not the same..."caliber" if you will that they used to have some years ago. I'm not absolving them of this or that (nor qualifying them towards any one thing itself either), only that it seemed in past years they had people that had a more critical eye towards RPGs in a more general sense. Though perhaps I'm just a greybeard at this point.

I respect your direct reply. Just power through it and I think you all can make a great game. I have faith in you. I'll be buying it day 1'ish whenever it's out, FYI. This is my kind of game 100%.

Honestly as soon as I heard "Single player MMO" I was sold. I've been looking for something like that for ages.

My sentiment exactly. I love the MMO style of game but always felt the worst part of it was other people. I would play the ♥♥♥♥ out of WoW or FF14 if they were like this.
Same sentiment. A friend showed me the game and I was intrigued, tried the demo and absolutely binged through the content last night and was left wanting so much more lol, I loved building my party, finding a pet summon spell, trying & failing to clear the dungeon and the world boss multiple times until my party grew strong enough, and the bread crumbs of the watchlights being mysterious for awhile, then finally revealed and dealt with later? Hell yes, intrigue with payoff.

I'm eagerly waiting for my chance to participate in the "launch" of this MMO and to enter the mainland Lol

Only three notes I had:
1) The Druid Pet did not seem to automatically assist me in combat like my Party did, I always had to click Attack. Would be nice if it assisted by default and kinda just piggybacked off the same Party Control coding SimPlayers use.
2) SimPlayer AI seemed to peter out pretty quick. I saw them around doing a few things but once I recruited a party, the rest of them just kinda...stood in the same 2-3 places in town or near the world boss, no more adventuring I could see and none seemed to level up. Not sure if this was just a bug or I was way too eager haha
3) The Chat window is great, but the immersion was ruined when I'd say something and they'd just randomly all greet me as if I just logged in...moreso because at least 3 of those people were IN MY PARTY AND RIGHT NEXT TO ME and knew better lol

Good notes! Thank you. Those things are all on the to-do list to improve. The demo gets updated as I make improvements and it'll be participating in Steam Next Fest in October, look for some big updates before then!

Just an update, issues 2 and 3 are mostly addressed - issue 1 is coming soon!
Looking forward to trying this out this week!!

Dude I've spent countless hours running a single player version of WOW with bots, this sort of game is a dream for many people just like me.

There seems to be a pretty significant population of MMO players out there who deem anyone having fun in a way that isn't optimal or in an unconventional way as "playing the game wrong". Its shocking how many people can't abide others enjoying something lol.

MMO gameplay is great. Why more RPGs haven't tried to utilize mechanics like tab target combat I will never understand.

Really looking forward to the EA release, please don't let the negativity get ya down :)

There was negativity on the game? An article popped up in my google feed, and it sounded and looked brilliant. Then I played the DEMO.

It's BRILLIANT.

Invert Y-axis didnt seem to work and I couldnt figure out how to configure the UI - but I have only had a quick dabble in the game.

A developer clearly loved Everquest - as should we all.
