Feeling good about it in general, though, i really hope they update the pastel before launch, it looks weird.

I'll never buy it so I don't have any kind of anxiety attached to it, although I'm warming up my eyes for a rolling marathon at all the "good guy NDS" comments about how they've done it once again and saved another classic game

Indifferent. It's a separate version that won't affect the original, so I don't really care. I was disappointed when I saw the screenshots on the Steam page, but I can always just play this version instead.
Honestly nothing to worry about I think.

Gamers are a spoiled bunch and will look for anything to whinge about but if there's no microtransactions or any of that junk and it's really quite close to the source material then no issue! Really pumped to see an awesome game get reintroduced and hopefully picked up and appreciated by more people who haven't been lucky enough to play the original!

Hopefully their lack of "luck" has to do with being willfully ignorant and doesn't prevent them from purchasing a gaming console or buying a game at 200% markup

Quite the opposite, actually. Gamers have low standards, which is why we're in this situation where microtransactions are profitable. The people criticizing are always a minority, with the exception of cases where the problems are impossible to ignore. And by "haven't been lucky enough", do you mean not patient enough to adapt to older games because they're "too clunky"? Though I guess in this case, since it's the same game with a new coat of paint, it's not so much the clunkiness, it's that the original looks "too old" to them.
