Am I screwed? Can't find a dead power cell.
At first I was ready to quit this game.. I thought it was too hard, kept dying all the time.. but I gave it another chance and now I love it. Anyway... I'm on deck 5 recreation and I need a power cell. I checked online and they say that the guy at the very beginning of the level should have one... perhaps I recycled it? Anywhere else in the game I can find one?

no, this is not a battery, it's a dead power cell, a different object. it's not possible to recycle it - maybe you have just picked it up and then dropped it somewhere. anyway, it is not crucial for the game progress, so if you don't remember, just leave it and continue.

it's not crucial? I thought I had to turn the lights back on in the basketball court?

looks like you're right.. there was no point to that haha

you can, but it's not essential to the game progress.

Man, I know this discussion is from 2014 but I also lost my power cell, but unlike you I don't know how to progress in history without it, could someone explain it to me?

the steam version is patched, one of the patches finishes up the basketball court setup, so now you actually require it to progress.

This is probably not a great idea. The Steam/GOG versions of SS2 are supposed to be the vanilla version of the game. If people want a modded version of the game, that's what SS2Tool and then SCP are for.

well, most people would pop the cell in anyway before going to activate the transmitter, thinking restoring power was required, so not much of a change, really.

pretty sure I've seen people finding out the cell is not required in the old build of the game, being surprised and wondering whether everything works properly, actually.

I'm gonna laugh at this later if it turns out the vanilla basketball courts powerless keypad was a mapping mistake.
