How long did it take to get the controls mapped comfortably? Thinking of publishing to the community?

Is there any way to get ss2tool running on Steam Deck? I'd love to experience this game with the graphics mods. The controls are pretty easy enough.

yes. need to ask someone with a steam deck. try reddit or in the global Steam forum.

just tried, vanilla and I get odd stuttering and frame dips. Tried tinkering in performance settings with no luck. runs smooth aside from the stutter/freezing and frame drops. i did notice cpu would spike often.

fix found. ran ss2 with proton experimental compatibility, smooth 60fps.

I'm on Steamdeck as well, everything went super smooth but something on Deck 5 f*cks up my game and eventually it crashes. Always on Deck 5 and now I'm stuck there. Did you experience something similar? I'm sorry for double posting but maybe it's a Steamdeck thing and I'm getting kinda desperate...

I am having an issue where my gun will not fire for this game on steam deck. It doesn't which configuration i try and use. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this ? I really wanna play this game.

The most popular community layout seems to either be manipulated to be the most popular, or it doesn't work for me. The controls were like tank controls and I couldn't really select anything.

Instead I've been using the community layout "system deck 2" by Big Trov and it's excellent. The controls feel natural and I managed to get used to it in a few minutes. I'm now a couple hours into a run and it's been smooth sailing.

I've also not selected anything for the compatibility layer. I've left it checked off and it works perfectly; all I had to do was change the resolution.
