Avast blocking installation on MacBook Pro
Have any of you MacBook Pro users that were also running Avast have any issues installing the game? When I try to install it gets right to the end and Avast throws out like 134 errors saying that every file is infected with a Trojan. Anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it?

Disable Avast during the installation?
Also, Avast isnt really a good antivirus from what i hear, this kind of proves it...

Sounds like a false-positive. There should be a way to either disable Avast or request that it ignore SS2 for download/launch. I sometimes get false-positives with random games I buy on Steam, especially if they're older or indie.

Just had exactly the same issue on Windows 10 today. The weird thing is that Avast didn't even show a malware notification or something, but it seemed to be blocking and deleting the file in background because I temporarily deactivated the shields and Steam was then able to recover it.

I just uploaded the SS2.exe file to virustotal and from 68 engines only Malwarebytes detected it as a malware (and just as an heuristic detection), so I guess it is just a temporary false positive.

In case it helps someone, I checked Avast's quarantine vault and it turns out that for some reason it silently flagged the SS2 executable as malware yesterday, just after I finished playing the game (maybe the fact that I played it in offline mode triggered some kind of behavior Avast considered "suspicious"). The new SS2 file I downloaded today when I temporarily deactivated the shields is not detected as malware though, so doing that or adding the quarantined file as an exclusion might be more than enough.
