Any penalization for destroying cameras?
Is it gonna come and bite me later? Or is there really no reasons why I shoudln't destroy them?

RAISES the question. Don't use expressions that you don't know what they actually mean.

As for the cameras, the entire Medical level is essentially a tutorial, so it would be pretty @ssho!e design for them to tell you to do something that it later turned out you shouldn't have.
Come on man, don't be petty. Polito does literally tell you to "avoid or destroy" the cameras. It's not a huge leap that someone would think there's something to gain by not destroying them.

Anyway, thread answered, moving on!

Have fun OP!

You're supposed to destroy them. Otherwise they can mess you up if you trigger an alarm.

Polito literally tells you to destroy the cameras. Did you just ignore that?

I think OP is asking for any "hidden" penalizations if you do.
Avan if polito tells you to, doesn't mean you have to. In other games there's mechanics that you can ignore what some NPC tells you and do it differently and then something different happens. Not here, but still. OP doesn't know that.

Actually no. She tells you to destroy or AVOID the cameras. This is why I made this post. There is an "OR" which begs the question of possible different results of these decisions.

I don't think it's such a wild thought that perhaps later in the game you will be able to use all of the security systems(not just turrets). Maybe destroying them now is a short-term win, but long-term loss.

You'd think so but no. :steammocking: I mean, it's a good assumption, nothing wrong with that, it's just that, i don't think for such an old game they really thought of something like this.
So, feel free to destroy all of them, you can't use the cameras yourself, they're just environmental hazards.

Oh, so I thought. I hope you feel better now. There's not much to add and I don't want you bloating this for other players. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

Only thing that may mess you up is wasting too much ammo other than that I don’t think so.

There is a good reason to leave some cameras up and running, actually!

Farming!

No, seriously. The enemy types are set for the decks, so in Med/Sci for instance you'll always only get swarmed by Pipe Hybrids. AKA, easy nanites you can get even only using a melee weapon.

It's much easier then trying to run around, waiting for random spawns, if also riskier.

Haven't tried it on the other decks personally, but I always leave one intact, out of the way camera in Med/Sci for the above reasons.

Heh, nice! Never really thought of that. Then again, i always end up with so much nanites that i never really needed to farm them.
But good tip for those daring enough to risk it! :steamhappy:
